comida mexicana castillo 2 — Restaurant in Gainesville

I visit Gainesville frequently so I was excited to have a new Mexican restaurant with such a full menu of great dishes! The restaurant itself is good - has nice colors, tables and chairs were clean, menu and inside daily special signage is well dispalyed.

I had a torta Cubana, French fries and jamaica for $25. Jamaica was delicous - not overly sweet. The Cubana was HUGE! It was good. Would have been better without the American cheese. Both Rojas and Verde sauces were good. They added flavor to the Cubana. The French fries were ok. No salt but I added it myself.

The service (or lack there of) is what could hurt this business. I was not greeted, not thanked or smiled at or anything. She had her phone in her shirt and was talking to someone the whole time. I felt like I was interrupting her conversation to order and pay for my meal.

Ultimately, I'm sure ill give it another try. Everyone has a bad day and I hope this business thrives....
