Honestly? This place is as mediocre as it gets. The ambiance was okay, the service was okay, and the food left a lot to be desired. The food looks good, then you take a bite. Suddenly the $13.50 price on the birria tacos makes no sense whatsoever. Not to mention, the tacos must have been 3.5 inches in length at MOST. These things were tiny, filling, but tiny. The birria tastes bland, and the only flavor comes from the corn tortilla, which is an issue that persists with the burrito as well.
As mentioned, I also ordered a grilled chicken burrito. It was just bland. Alone, the chicken tastes adjacent to the smell of wet cat food, but I didn't let that discourage me and I continued on with my burrito. The meat tastes like nothing once it's all together, as all you can taste is the tortilla, and the pound of yellow rice. Guacamole is included, but there's so little of it that they might as well exclude it. It's really just a rice burrito, filling for an hour, but you'll need a second dinner. $11.75 (I think) and no chips!
This food is made entirely to be looked at, not to be eaten. Truly I was drawn in by the photos, even though the interior looks like the typical millennial owned pop up "hip" restaurant.
The horchata was very good! Just like my mother makes it. It was nearly $5 for a small though, so I wouldn't get it again. While we're on the topic of drinks, no free water! Want H2O? Buy a bottle from their fridge. Who woulda thought.
Sauces are included with your meal and they're quite good, but with the lack of salt on my meal, I doubt something that flavorful came from that kitchen.
There are definitely better options for this price. I'd almost rather go to Moe's, at least they give you big portions and FREE CHIPS.
Food was really a 2.8/5. For that price, I want toppings on my food! Feels like they're skimping on it in favor of rice. Almost no cheese or guac or sour cream to be found.
Atmosphere is a 2.7/5. Very generic. Neon signs and grass on the walls, overplayed.
Service was good. Guy at the counter was friendly. He gets a 5/5!
I'm not sure if I would come back here, but if you're in the area and hungry it's probably better than your typical fast food. Be prepared to pull out...
Read moreI cannot rave about this place enough. Every single taco I had was delicious. Even with the restaurant being busy, each taco put forth was fresh, hot, and delivered quickly. The tres leches was delicious and also fresh tasting. The churros and street corn were good. In total, the first day we came here we had 10 tacos. We left after having 8 between me and my husband and came back later in the day for another 2 tacos and a second tres leches before heading home.
This is my second time at this restaurant and it still does not disappoint. The food is so fresh, JUICY, and authentic. It’s so hard to find genuine good for you food like this. They play fun and chill campesino music in the background, not too loud or low. All tables are super clean, I see them clean the tables well and regularly.
This is my favorite authentic Mexican restaurant in Gainesville. The tacos are small, but worth it. I left another Mexican restaurant earlier in the day that disappointed me in both visits and has 6K reviews.
Please, if you visit this place, leave a review. It’s a shame that it only has a little over 200 reviews at the time of me writing this. Luis at the front desk is very polite and it was great speaking to Jose the last time I was here. It’s not often you go to a restaurant that does everything right, down to the staff and ingredients. If I didn’t live so far out, I’d be here far more often.
My favorites are the Barbacoa and Lengua...
Read moreIn short this place is the most unassuming hole in the wall taco joint and the tacos are to die for. If you have ever been to Mexico and found the perfect taco stand, this will bring back memories for you. The taco place that used to be here was mediocre at best so when my kids told me another taco place had opened I didn't pay much attention. I decided to check it out on a total whim and was so glad I did. I walked in to see they had some really traditional options. Turns out they are from Guadalajara, I believe. So I ordered what I feel is the best test for a taco stand, in my opinion, a tripa taco... and it was bang on. Real attention to detail. Not to mention the salsa was sooo good. Now I am writing this review with only the most selfish of intentions. I know I won't be able to keep them in business by myself, although I am sure I would give it a good try, so please go and enjoy the tacos, so I can continue to enjoy them too. Don't pass this place by. My only complaint is that they call themselves "Tacos 352" which didn't give me any inkling as to what they had to offer, yet right over their door it says "STREET TACOS"! If they had lead with that, I don't think I could have ignored them for so long. Go try the tacos, doesn't matter which ones, I am sure they are all great. The other stuff is probably great too but don't go there without at least...
