You just never know how a 1st impression will go... Yep My 1st Time to eat here. I walked here after a U.T.M.B visit. I was Soo HUNGRY after fasting for a test. I find the mom n pop type atmospheres appealing, So I Stopped In To Check it Out! I've worked in the food industry for 2 of The Pigstands Inc..in Beaumont,Texas. Anyhow.... I had The burger and fries basket meal for $8.95 and I subbed for onion rings... Wich was $3.00 EXTRA And A BIG Glass of Coke $3.95 The burger was off the chain but $3.00 EXTRA for burnt onion rings was not so charming. When I got ready to leave I asked for a to go drink and to my surprise it was a small kiddie size to go drink glass. I have to say This Place Has Its Great Points But Lacks Attention Wherein To Keep Folks Wanting to Come Back. I Wish Y'all Well And A Better Understanding Of Keeping The Customers Coming Back for All the Right Reasons.... Run it like You care and mean it everytime that door opens could be a 1st impression Remember This... *Good Quality Food *Fair Prices No Matter The Location And A Friendly Observant Staff If You Wouldn't Eat It.. Dont Serve It!!! That order should not have left that kitchen window with Burnt O'Rings. Oh I Forgive but I'll Never Forget That 1st...

I’m giving this restaurant a two star rating ( because it’s actually a 4 star) not because of the great food or service but because of the seemingly lack of concern for COVID-19. A family member had eaten at this restaurant several times prior to the pandemic and was excited to take me to one her off the beaten path local restaurants. I was somewhat skeptical of the place upon walking in, although the place had nice homey feel to it, my first concern me was the young hostess who greeted us was not wearing a mask. As she seated us, I noticed that with the exception of one the kitchen staff, non of the waitstaff/ servers wore any masks and were casually talking to the customers at their tables. I must have looked very uncomfortable or concerned because my family member asked me if I wanted to swItch our order to takeout , I said no I’m fine because but both us were are fully vaccinated and at minimal risk. It just surprising to me and that in this environment , a restaurant which has such very friendly staff and great food wouldn’t be practicing a little bit more social responsibility for...

Over all good experience and would definitely recommend their breakfast.

Open: 20+ yrs

Inside: Outdated (But Clean)

Pros: Trash picked up as soon as it hits the floor Tables wiped down as soon as customers get up to leave Wait time - None (Greeted nicely at entry)

Cons:

Carpet messed up in a few places and outdated Ceiling Tiles dirty Tables outdated

Wait Staff: Very nice, attentive to children and myself.

Pros: Asking if we needed anything else Talkative Smiles Child Friendly - Son wanted extra whipped cream and she delivered (No Charge)

Cons: Shouldn’t sit down in customers view while working

Food: Fresh, good tasting, presented very well (Better than 90% of all breakfast places) Wait time: 5-8 min

Owner: Very nice, came over and asked if everything is good and shook my hand. As well as telling us “I hope you all have a good day” (As we left)

Pros: It’s always nice to see a active owner (Picking up and talking to customers) Child Friendly- Talked to my son (Very nice)

Bathroom:...

Food was okay. Taco salad was good, could use salsa. Breakfast was just okay. Scrambled eggs were not cooked all the way. French toast was good. Service was okay. Our waitress was distracted and the cook came out to attend our table and bring us items that were missing from our order. As we were leaving there was a huge upset with another customer that almost turned into a domestic dispute. An unhappy customer started yelling and then waitress and her friends followed the upset woman into the parking lot. This was our first and only time visiting - which unfortunately left us with an unsettling experience. As such we gave a 1 for atmosphere based off this experience. We are assuming this an uncommon occurrence and as such didn't want that to impact our overall score for the restaurant.

Our first time here and we’ll be back. Very clean on the inside and in the restrooms. We had breakfast. I asked for crispy bacon and hash browns and that’s what I got. My eggs were over medium as requested. All for $11.99. Our coffee (nice and strong) and tea were $3.50 each. But we were happy with everything and like to support local so we’ll be back We go at least once every two weeks. We’ve discovered how to make our own breakfast tacos. I love the huevos rancher but eat way too much when I get them. 5/27/24
