Made brief mention of this place as part of my hotel review. Came here with a group of other parents after sending our kids off to enjoy their Prom. The buffet was seafood heavy. While the price for the buffet was good, my wife and I do not enjoy seafood, so we elected to order from the menu, as did the other two couples with us. The prices were reasonable, and that was even more impressive considering how inflated hotel restaurant prices can be! Our sever was a new fellow who was a bit nervous, but very conscientious and careful in making sure our orders were taken down and delivered correctly. Everyone enjoyed their meals in a relaxing and unhurried atmosphere. We probably spent two hours there altogether. Drinks were enjoyed - I assume from the large bar out in the main lobby. Those prices were also reasonable. My generously sized Long Island Tea was $9. I've never stayed at a hotel in Galveston before as we usually just make a day trip out of such visits. However, with our experience at the hotel and at the Cafe, I could easily see us making a return visit for a...
Read moreCame down to see if they did room service, took about 10 minutes just to get a server to come to us and the place was empty. They said they did room service so we went back up and about an hour later we called for room service and they said they had no one to bring it up to us after just telling us they could. We decide to come eat inside the restaurant and stand for another 10 minutes waiting for a server in yet a still very empty restaurant. When we finally get seated they are out of the 2 things that we wanted. My husband asked for sweet tea and was given un sweetened tea. I heard the phone up front ring for over a minute and our server is walking around looking at his phone. The server was nice though and our food came out pretty quick. The food was delicious but my son hated the Mac n cheese. Free refills on certain drinks which was nice. Very pricy food though. Overall the service sucked but the food was good. There was only one server in the whole restaurant so the poor guy had to run back and forth as more...
Read moreI made dinner reservations here well in advance for a group of 15. The day of, our group was down to 12. While the drinks came to us in a timely manner, I had initially been told that we should allow an hour and a half for our dinner in order to have enough time to see the Festival of Lights display. Dinner service was horribly slow and getting our checks, even slower. We had only one person waiting our table. Instead we were there for over two and a half hours and behind schedule the rest of the evening. The food was mediocre. I ordered jumbo coconut shrimp that were barely over an inch and a half long and definitely not fresh. The salad was the greatest and tastiest thing I ate that evening. The vegetables were overcooked and bland and I was unable to find any cilantro in the cilantro lime rice. It too was bland. I'm being generous by giving the review three stars only because I realize that this is post Covid and his service is hard to come by leaving many establishments short-handed. Our waitress was...
