Plato's Place & Coney Island — Restaurant in Garden City

I have to say this is hands-down my favorite coney and I’ve been eating here for a very very long time which is why I can’t give a 1. However today I went for breakfast with my dad. Normally I don’t eat breakfast there but how can you jack up breakfast easiest meal of the day. Order two eggs over medium and bacon that’s it simple. It’s taking a long time which to me is odd considering it’s not crowded since the tables are still “socially distanced” 🤣seriously A joke! I get my food and obviously it was sitting back there a while because my bacon was cold and my over medium eggs almost had no yolk to run. Didn’t seem like the two waitresses this morning we’re very happy to be there as they weren’t the friendliest. Honestly disappointing considering I get carry out in the evening from here a lot. If I could give this play, zero stars, I would, are used to come here about a year ago, and the food was OK. I would say about two years ago. The food was amazing. Prices were good. It was a great place to go to over the years the prices have went up and food quality has gone down. I even have pictures to show today’s spent $20 on a breakfast for me and my husband came home. Sausage is completely shriveled up burnt hashbrowns are not even cooked at all when I asked for crispy ones, and when I called to tell them, they just tell me that they just opened up so they can’t fully cook the hashbrowns I asked, why would you serve uncooked hashbrowns makes no sense to me? Also, like I said it sausage was completely burnt and shriveled up my husband couldn’t even eat it , my eggs were so dry and gross and cold. It's family-owned and has a "small town" feel to it. They have a wide variety of breakfast, lunch and dinner items, Greek specialties, Children's fare, American ...salads and more. You'll be served a good portion size for a reasonable price. They also offer beer and wine. Costs are rising everywhere for everyone, but Plato's has kept their menu prices fair without cutting portion sizes. We love going there for breakfast and lunch. Tasty gyros and fries.
