Gaenali Bon Ga — Restaurant in Garden Grove

I am not sure why somebody said the people here are not friendly. I had a great customer service experience with the server Jay Kim and even the cook/owner Christina Cho ! I ate around 1:30 pm. The last of the lunch crowd was clearing up. I was the only customer left by 2:15 pm. The staff in the back was beginning to eat their lunches and they were so friendly. 4 ladies had lunches. 3 cooks and 1 server. They even gave me more sides when I said I loved the vegetables 😋.

The place is clean and the server cleaned the tables as the customers left the tables.

The food quality was A for amazing. I ordered the Bulgogi Dolsot or Hot Stone w/Bulgogi, Vegetables & Spicy sauce. The flavors were not overwhelming. There was enough spice on the kimchi but not too much. It is a combination of spice, savory, tangy, and smoky flavors on the hot stone bulgogi. It arrived piping hot and the stone was sizzling for over 20 min. I was here for more than an hour and the hot stone is still warm as I write this review! The soup! It was also served in a small hot stone container and it was a nice starter.

On the outside, it looks like a little hole-in-the-wall place. But boy, this is a gem! It is a diamond on the rough. If I can rate this place as a 10, It more than...

This restaurant looks really clean!!! servers was all nice and friendly, very attentive. I was having a hard time to choose the menu and the lady bring out the paper menu that has picture on it for me, and it so much easier to see from the picture. prices was really good for the portions. Big portions Side dishes was fresh and all good. clean restroom easy parking food was really good as well. Bimbimbap was so good, they bring a bottle sauce out for you to mix it yourself. Other restaurant usually only put some little portions of the sauce to mix inside the bimbimbap. The bimbimbap also comes with the tofu soup. Seafood pancakes was super good as well. Really big portions, usually me and my husband cant finished the pancake anywhere. But here we both finished it all. It was so good. Full of flavor and top it up with the sauce.

This place definetly a 5 stars restaurant!!! Definetly would come back...

When you enter the restaurant the restaurant has a fish odor smell, there were a good amount of people eating there and two tables available. As I was standing there waiting to be seated, multiple waitresses continued to walk by without acknowledging our presence. I continued to make eye contact waiting for someone to take our names and ask how many people in our party for approximately 15 minutes. Servers continued to walk past us without saying hi or addressing us so I walked out.

All I ask from any business/resturant is that if you see a customer standing there, acknowledge their presence by stating something on the lines of" I will be with you shortly, thank you for waiting". Not even that was offered and for that I took my business...
