Han Nam Udon & Sushi is my go-to local Korean-Japanese comfort spot. It’s not a flashy place—no trendy decor or Instagram gimmicks—but what it does offer is something harder to find: food that tastes like it was made for regulars, not tourists.

Their udon is the star: rich, clean broth that’s soothing and satisfying, especially on a cool day. The noodles are perfectly chewy, and the toppings are always fresh. I’ve probably ordered the shrimp tempura udon a dozen times and it’s been consistent every visit.

Sushi here is simple, not overcomplicated. It’s not the place for high-end toro or uni, but their rolls are well-balanced and generous for the price. The Han Nam roll is a personal favorite—just enough spice, just enough crunch.

The staff? Quiet but kind. Service is efficient without being rushed. It feels like a family place, the kind of spot you come back to after a long day just to eat something that makes you feel okay again.

This was my second pleasant experience having udon with my family. My daughter ordered the udon with tempura shrimp, I had udon with pork, my wife shared ours and had edamame. We did not see a garlic edamame option. It was amazing. Wife had my cabbage salad, steamed rice and some pork with our udon, daughter ate veggie tempura n udon, wife had shrimp, I ate my udon and what my daughter did not. The pork was nicely breaded and went amazingly with the udon; there were dips for pork and tempura. Fresh tempura and the broth with noodles made me feel like I was in Japan. Tldr: new management, not as good. This place was a hidden gem in the area, serving amazing udon at excellent value. They used to be inside a grocery store and eventually opened a standalone restaurant at their current location. This used to be one of our go to places when we lived in the area.
