Would give 10 Stars if I could!! Great place if you love Seafood the seafood soup with the clear chicken broth was great I'm actually taking my friend back for dinner I loved it so much.
Have to update after I took my friend back here for dinner on the same day. OMG this place is wonderful I am so sad that I did not Discover it it when I lived in Garden Grove really close for 3 years.
Their dinner menu is really long full of pictures any different style you want like such as when you order the soup you can get it Vietnamese style Chinese Style Korean style and some of the dishes you can change to as far as the spices which is great because it's not typical Chinese Fair throughout the whole menu. That said everything tastes so fresh like it was caught out of the ocean that morning and prepared fresh. To be honest the outside of the place looks like a commercial building with no windows but it is a very nicely decorated inside formal dinner tables cloth tablecloths ceramic chopsticks even at lunch and dinner you get a full pot of tea you get a nice little tapioca desert you get the big bowl of rice on the side. I got that even with just my bowl of soup at lunch. Which was very reasonable at $10 for a huge bowl and I took some home.
The dinner menu pricing starts less than 20 and goes all the way up to family style on a huge turntable and some meals that have several courses for groups up to $300.
I would say if you want a special place to go and you love Asian food an Seafood this is the place to go. They also have chicken and meat dishes. They have dishes where the food is chopped up or has batter or is filleted fish or is whole fish cooked literally the menu items go into the hundreds on the numbers not getting. They have two locations but it looks like if you want dim song they have certain hours where you get it stops in the afternoon. It seems not every dishes available at the place I went to maybe the other restaurant was the main one not sure.
They have crab lobster and shrimp if you don't like fish. For dinner we stuck with two shrimp dishes one with salt and pepper shrimp which was amazing in the flavor I can't believe it was just salt pepper and a very light batter the only thing that surprised me is it was flash-fried so the shell was still in there after a while I couldn't chew through it I just took a shrimp out and ate the outside batter. Then we also got mango honey shrimp and it was in a very light batter but a little heavier than the other shrimp. And then we had sizzling rice soup which was great but I have to say I really loved the seafood soup in the clear chicken broth for lunch even though there wasn't much spices the flavor of the chicken broth was unbelievable I couldn't believe it. I would give 10 stars for this place I'm going to recommend it on Facebook if you receive food lover again this is the place to go!!
And the service is unbelievable they have guys that will just kind of runs by your table and pick up dishes and you don't even know they've come through they have another one always concentrate on the setup and the tea and other things and you have your waiter you get so much attention but they don't stand at your table and bother you they watch the room like a hawk. I'm just so sad I live in another County now and just happened to be down...
Read moreEats: House Special Fried Lobster, House special tofu, salt pepper pork chop, hot & sour soup. "Meh. I've experienced better" at this same exact place a couple months ago! This isn't one of those hater reviews, because I came to this place already thinking that I was giving it 5 stars based on the excellent food and service I used to receive here. Seafood Cove usually has a wait around lunch time, but we were lucky enough to edge out the Saturday lunch crowd.
House Special Fried Lobster - Highly recommended if you are feeling extra spendy. It's a bit tough to eat with hard to reach meat in some of the places, but cmon, this is lobster. Our 2.5 lbs lobster ended up being around $33.
House Special Tofu - Fried tofu to a crispy perfection and every bite is a flavorful swarm of that House Special sauce. Just wish it was more filling and they put more on the plate, but it's tofu anyway. That's why we buy the meat.
Salt Pepper Pork Chop - I always get this dish every time I visit. For some reason on my latest visit, I got 2 discernible pieces of pork chops and the rest seemed to be smaller scraps that you would find at the bottom of the fryer. When it first came out, I was shocked to see this typically fave dish lose its luster. Really we looked at each other at the table the looked down on this pathetic entree.
The food review of this place ends up being around 3.5 stars. Some actions of the staff pushed it way down. Upon walking up to our table, we noticed that one of the chairs was wet and pointed it out to the staff. While you would expect the staff to get a rag and wipe it, she handed us a napkin. Then she pointed us to the dirty dishes tray to discard the napkin. While Asian restaurants are typically not known for their customer service, this was clearly not acceptable. This is in no way a reflection of the owner whom I used to see many many times here. The owner of this place is awesome. He always greeted customers and it was not above him to bus your table and assist his table staff. I had that image burned into my mind and smiled about it.
I will come back and I will get these same exact dishes. I really hope to give this place a 5 star review, and will happily reward it when I can forget about my recent bad...
Read moreFamily run Chinese restaurant and wow are they so fast and so nice. They have everything from conch to fried pork to wok veggies and everything in between. This is a favorite place of my family for years now but it was my first time going. Their egg soup was so smooth and a great start to our meal. We then had fried pork, greens, fish, clams, and fried rice. I was shocked at how the fried pork was not dripping with grease! It was the best fried pork I have ever had in my life and I never eat it when it’s on the table usually because of the grease but wow was I impressed. My uncle had ordered for the table and even after ordering the waiter was kind to suggest a veggie so we had a well rounded meal! I have been to other Chinese restaurants that do this and I honestly love it and consider it important that they think of their customers in that way. The meal was amazing and sooo filling. At the end they gave us a free dessert which was a mango mung bean soup, at first it tasted a little funny but I ended up really liking it and knew that it wasn’t something coated in sugar and that it was a really healthy alternative to a sugary dessert! Very kind of them to give that at the end. They have the most authentic Chinese food I have ever eaten in the southern California area, a must try if you are in...
