Edit: 11/27/2022 - The service was fantastic. The food was amazing. Fully redeemed from my original review. I highly recommend Asian Moon. Thank you for a wonderful evening.
Full disclosure review. We made reservations for 5pm on a Friday. This restaurant has been open for maybe, two weeks. We arrived a little early and the restaurant was mostly empty. We were greeted with a seat and water early. We had a party of 4 adults and 1, one year old baby.
We ordered 12 sushi rolls, cucumber salad, edamame, crab ragoon, kids fried rice, and a few adult beverages.
There was 1 sushi chef, 2 wait staff and maybe 1 cook in the back.
We were early in the evening, which sort of worked in our favor.
The beers and hot sake came out on time. Refills were very slow if almost non existent. The crab ragoon came out on time being the only appetizer that was on time.
Without going into huge detail, the time for us all to get our complete sushi order and rest of our appetizers, took almost 2 hours. There was simply not enough staff.
In the 2 hours we were there, we watched 5+ tables get up and leave because they hadn't been served at all. Towards the end, the wait staff was greeting guests at the door and possibly telling patrons the wait was going to be ltoo ong or, they weren't taking anymore tables at all. Be aware, the restaurant was half full at 7pm.
The sushi, ragoon, edamame was amazing! The quality of the food was fantastic!
So, this restaurant is in its infancy. They badly needed more staff.
We were gifted cocktails after we received all of our food. That was nice.
You should go, but go early. Be prepared to wait. Hopefully the staffing issue will be fixed.
3 stars for now, until the staffing issue is resolved. 4.5 stars for...
Read moreCrab Rangoon tasted good and was a little different. Small but decadent, not ginger flavor and no actual meat but new and I liked them.would have been nice to have full size. We ordered 3 items. All different to try a variety since it was our 1st time. 2 out of the 3 came out with the same brown gravy sauce and the tempura on the 3rd was soggy. Our food came out sporadically. There were only 2 tables occupied. Yet All 3 mains came out several minutes apart same for the other table. Things tasted fresh but perhaps low quality. The chicken and steak was dry and rubbery due to them being sliced paper thin. As well as smaller portion size for an avg 16 dollars per plate. I think i would have been better off going to China taste. And am very apprehensive to try again for they're highly priced sushi. Take in consideration it is gardner and the turnover is not that of a kc restaurant with plenty of competition. 2 adults 1 child I can find something more interesting for 85 dollars plus 15 % tip. In my opinion far to many dishes to be great at. Chinese Japanese thai ramen and teppanyaki to much going on here Sorry I had higher expectations since it was...
Read moreIn my experience since the opening, the staff here have been nothing but nice and gracious. The food in my experience is always very good with healthy portions. I always get the General Tso's chicken and chicken lo mein. The General Tso's is sweet, spicy, and quite savory. It's the best I've had anywhere else. The only complaints are that every once in awhile the chicken with be a bit overcooked which is understandable given how it's cooked. Also with the General Tso's there is a few pieces of uncooked broccoli which I imagine is a garnish but I personally don't think the flavors go well together. The lo mein is a bit sweet and savory, always done well. The prices are fair. I've heard folk say it's expensive and I don't disagree but I do think that it's worth the money for the quality and amount of food that's received.
To the staff: Keep up the good work and thank you for being...
