Small newish Spanish restaurant but like most since Mezzaluna, won’t last. Service took forever which it wasn’t busy when my husband and I came in. Server was not attentive and did not check on the table not once. After anything was ordered. We kept getting the dishes we ordered all at once which we wanted time to eat the appetizer but it didn’t matter since we didn’t eat even 30% of the food overall. The server didn’t even bother asking if my husband wanted another margarita. Horrible margarita btw. He said it tasted/reeked of the bartender’s cologne/perfume and it was ill made. The Jamaican hibiscus water tasted like a dirty moldy mop. But we couldn’t ask the server who was M.I.A. For our 20 minute dining experience to fix or change anything! Or get something else! For appetizers: we got the elotes which had no seasoning and just barely sprinkled with tajin. Very much would’ve disappointed any Elotero. Had more cheese than anything on them. We also got chips and queso fondue—which the only part that was good was the burnt cheese at the bottom of the small skillet. That was the only burnt/cooked/flavorful item on our table. Chips were unsalted too. For meals: carnitas tacos which were bland and meat was not seasoned. The tortilla itself tasted like it was undercooked. Even the onions on the tacos did not taste seasoned or like how an onion should taste like. Chicken sopes was my dish and the chicken was also bland and not seasoned. In addition, the chicken was very very chewy like old with some pieces and I got an undercooked piece too (especially fun eating at 36 weeks pregnant). I couldn’t even eat a quarter of one sope. It had too much lettuce on it and the beans were also bland. When the server finally got back to the table; after noticing my husband had pushed his plate far away from him; she asked if we needed any boxes and we declined. She asked if we didn’t like the food as she proceeded to take plates away. And we said no we didn’t. She said yeah I get that a lot that the meat has no flavor after asking him about the carnitas tacos. She didn’t try to get a manager or rectify anything. Horrible service. Horrible drinks. Horrible food. Ambiance was okay. Music was stupid loud but decorations were pretty. Just goes to show anyone get buy a restaurant and make it look nice but then not fix the real problems with it. And half the staff were on their phones texting or talking to each other. $100 wasted but at least we know why this...

BEWAREEEE... Their online menu is WRONG. Happy hour DOES NOT end at 7, it ends at 5 !!! We went at 5pm. Our waitress knew we were under the impression that we were ordering under the happy hour menu and she did not tell us that HH ended at 5 instead of 7. We enjoyed a tequila colada cantarito, a 1 Liter Cantarote and queso from the HR menu. We thought we were paying $8, $15 and $5, respectively, but instead we paid full price of $17, $30 and $10. That's a big difference !! We also had the steak tostadas and al pastor tacos. Don't get me wrong, the food is actually delicious, I'd even say best in bergen county but we were SUPER disappointed to have to pay full price for the items that were listed as Happy Hour. When I asked to speak to the manager, the waiter said that the manager wasn't there. We paid the overpriced bill, reluctantly, but will not go back as I can't imagine how many other people have been robbed of their money thinking that they're getting a great deal. The table next to us ordered the big 5 Liter Cantarote probably thinking it was the $80 HH special but got hit with the full price of $130. Shameful. Fix the false advertisement on your website and socials and please advise waitresses/waiters to tell paying customers that HH ends...

Los Cantaritos is nothing short of extraordinary. The Cemita I ordered was a masterpiece layered with bold, authentic flavors that perfectly balanced freshness and spice. Paired with the spicy mango Cantarito, it was a culinary experience to savor. My wife chose the quesatacos, and they were equally impressive—rich, flavorful, and expertly prepared. The attention to detail in every dish is evident, showcasing a deep commitment to quality and authenticity. Los Cantaritos is a standout addition to Garfield’s dining scene and a must-visit for anyone seeking exceptional Mexican cuisine

The place has delicious food. The DJ played a variety of good music. We went to celebrate a birthday and enjoyed the atmosphere, music, food and drinks. The only downfall would be that although we made reservations prior to our outing; we still had to wait about 35 minutes before our group was seated. There weren't many tables, so we had to wait for a group to finish their meal and pay before we could be seated. So I would say plan ahead in case you have to wait like we did if you go on the weekend as a group of 5+.
