New Venice Bakery — Restaurant in Garfield

First I will say their semolina bread, and assorted rolls never disappoint. However, two things have gone down hill are the friendly service, and their cookies that are not worth what they charge. I purchased the sprinkle cookies, and every last one of them were dry, and fell apart into crumbs! The cuccidate cookie ring that was out this week, I picked up for my dad. When I asked the cost, they all looked at each other like "what do we charge". $13.50. I only paid for it because my dad likes it. However, it looked great, but was stale and dry. Another item not worth the cost. Now for the service, I witnessed a girl there on this past Sunday being extremely rude and condescending to a senior citizen. I listened to the lady place her order, and the girl was repeating back to her the wrong items! Then, she would give this sweet lady an attitude. I felt so bad for her, and if it were my mother she spoke to like that, that counter girl would have been fired! Train your counter people, if you don't like to interact with people, don't accept the job! I will be going to another local bakery that never disappoints when offering fresh, not stale, old overpriced cookies. I hope you do better in your choice of employees, because it's going to cost you to unfortunately lose...

I was coming back from a Doctor’s appointment and was craving fresh bread so I Googled Italian bread bakery in the area and came across Venice Bakery short story I’m so so glad I did wow you walk in and the smell of sweetness Lord then the selections just yummy overload from cookies to cakes to cannolis to rolls bread OMG that day I came in there with my grandson and we just couldn’t make up our minds but we picked up a pastry filled with spinach and feta, 2 small piece of cake chocolate cake and mousse, red velvet cake and cream cheese, sesame bread , Baguette bread, 2 large chocolate chip m&m cookies !! Absolutely fantastic BAKERY and prices. That they are open late till 10pm every night is the best part. Who does that?! I highly recommend the cream pastries. Not cloyingly sweet; just right. Excellent fresh bread. Consistent freshness and worth a look see. The store looks small and usually there's a line, ( actually always a line ) but there is always something new and appealing. If you don't see the kind of bread or cake you want, just ask. Surprising little gem tucked into a sweet little neighborhood. Came across quite by accident and now part of my shopping routine.
