Quick take: Loud, cozy, flavorful chaos—CDMX-style tacos done right with salsa that hits harder than expected.
🇲🇽 Tacos con alma, cumbia fuerte, y salsas que no perdonan.
The secret ingredient here isn’t just in the tacos—it’s in the tortilla and the heart. Even during their grand opening rush, the team didn’t miss a beat. That alone deserves a taco-shaped trophy.
Let’s talk tacos: • Barbacoa is the weekend MVP—rich, juicy, and absolutely worth setting a reminder for. • Pastor with pineapple is a strong runner-up. Sweet, savory, and a little controversial (as all good tacos are). • Carne asada came in tender, juicy, and unbothered. • Chicken is the family-friendly go-to. Toss in some melted cheese and the kids are set. • Mushroom taco is a win for vegan friends—unexpected and appreciated. • Chorizo was the only letdown. Kind of breakfasty without the bold kick. Might give it a second shot costra style with melted cheese.
The salsas are no joke—fiery, flavorful, and sneak up on you like a surprise leg day.
Drinks? • The mangonada is a sweet, frozen mango margarita with a bit of punch. • The michelada has a bold tomato base and plays perfectly with a crisp Modelo Especial.
Pro tip on the setup: There are two counters. • The left side has a wall of tiny square window cutouts—think mosaic meets taco speakeasy. You’ll see hands delivering orders from the kitchen like a secret handshake. This is where your dessert (and likely first intercom shout, comes from) • The right side is where you get to make your cilantro/onion decisions at the glass counter and watch the taqueros build your plate like taco artists.
Don’t forget to grab napkins and salsa before heading back to your table—you’ll thank yourself halfway through.
It’s a small space—maybe 11 groups of four can squeeze in—but definitely leans to-go. If you’re even slightly claustrophobic, maybe try one of their larger locations.
The music? Loud. But if you’re into cumbia rebajada (slow, bass-heavy Mexico City-style cumbia), it totally works. I felt like I time-traveled to a night in DF. Loved it.
Bonus points for the classic taquería signage and the Virgin Mary respectfully posted in the corner—felt like home.
And the churro? Perfect ending. Crunchy on the outside, warm on the inside with a rich cajeta (caramel and condensed milk) filling. Kid-approved, adult-devoured.
Would I go again? Absolutely. Just maybe with a to-go order, a cold drink, and a sweat towel for...
Read moreGreat service and great people! More review to come...... I'm back! Annnnnd it was mid, at best. To be honest, not the best tacos in Garland and nowhere near it. The corn tortillas used for the tacos were good, the trompo was actually really good, the fajita was decent but there's about 5 other taco spots up the block that taste way better. We ordered trompo, fajita, barbacoa and chorizo tacos. The best were the trompo, next the fajita and the chorizo was pretty good too. I'm a huge fan of barbacoa, I love me some barbocoa like no one's business, but this place, probably the worst barbocoa I've ever tasted (maybe it was a one off). They didn't have horchata and they only sell Birria on the weekends. We also got the queso and an Elote. The queso was thicker than a dairy queen ice-cream blizzard and the Elote was not what that is, even the chips were bland and missing the most basic thing, a touch of salt. Again, mid. The price is decent and the people and atmosphere are good and fun but this ain't my first go to place when I'm feeling like street tacos. Salsa Verde isn't too far nor the infamous 24/7 tacos in Garland. Anyways, just...

Food very good. The tacos are fresh and full of flavor. Menu is only tacos and quesadillas.
The atmosphere. The location looks great. The decorations and music are a 10. Parking is tight but good.
Service... Well, here we go.
First the good...again.. Cashier great smile super friendly bilingual. Busser kept the busy restaurant clean, picking up plates and keeping the tables ready for the next guests.
Bad.
On this day...Manager was rude.
There were 8 of us (two families) and the restaurant was almost full but clearing out. A table cleared out and we sat the kids while we ordered...because it didn't make sense for 8 people to stand in line when only 2 were ordering for everyone.
The manager told the kids to get up because they didn't have food. My wife went over to see what was going on. And again he said they had to get up because they didn't have food. She explained that we had just ordered the food...
