Great place for getting together with friends and family. First time we ever dined here and we went to celebrate our friend Oscar's 50th birthday along with his large family. Place was packed on a Saturday night. Lots of large parties dining and enjoying themselves. The staff was excellent. They did a good job of keeping up with such a large crowd in so many food orders. My wife had the spinach and shrimp enchiladas which she said they use fresh spinach but the shrimp were very small. I had the carne asada which was good but thinly sliced. It was also good but not what I would say great. Not like your Chuy's, pappasito's, Uncle Julio's or many of the other great Mexican food restaurants in North Texas. They serve basically good quality, Dependable Mexican food and people love this place. The people we were dining with have been coming here for years and the cook came from Mexicali which we had been a long time customers there before they closed. The one thing that we judge a really good Mexican food restaurant is by the salsa and theirs was okay but nothing special. The margaritas were also okay, $12 for a large which most plates there were in the same range. Would I come there again? Absolutely as I said it's a good place to meet...

Service was bad i order food from here often but today was would be the last time. When i place my order i asked them for extra tortillas when i made it home they where not in there i called they kept telling me that it only came with one side of tortillas i told them i new that i explained that I order extra when they finally where able to verify my order and realized the mistake instead of apologizing she said next time you order will give you extra tortillas... 😪. I told her my whole point was to let them know to pay attention to the order because i spent more than $50 for my order the minimum they can do is make sure its all there then she said will you can come get the tortillas now if you want... i swear clueless.. but never again will i order again...

Our family really enjoyed eating at Ernesto's Restaurant Friday evening. Ernesto's is Tex-Mex style and is nestled in a strip center in Garland, TX and is really a very good sized restaurant with plenty of customers. Our chimichanga dinners were very well cooked and delicious and we're good portioned for $12.99. The sweet tea was perfect and was $2.50. Their chips and salsa were very fresh. We also had a large queso dip with our chips which was $7.50. They were very well staffed and we wanted for nothing. The staff was one of the best parts of our experience as they were very friendly and checked on us frequently. Everyone genuinely seemed to care about our experience. We would definitely recommend trying out Ernesto's and cannot wait to return...

Unless you’re Hispanic, you probably shouldn’t go to this particular restaurant. You get treated hostile after spending your hard earned money. You also get accused of other people’s false transactions because of course, all black people look the same😅. I ordered for pick up, for myself, through door dash, and unlike the first time the wait staff was hostile, and was demanding to see the door dash transaction or even an id card. Then I was accused by the owner that the last time they had to make my order twice because I had picked it up, and that’s how I know that this establishment thinks all black people look the same. That way of thinking incites racial profiling, which is my experience with Ernesto’s.
