Usually always amazing.
I say usually because I've had a couple (which isn't a deal-breaker) of times where the burgers were left on the grill too long and were a little overcooked and not Griff's typical juicy burgers. But with hundreds of visits over a lifetime, a couple of less-than-steller burgers aren't bad.
When you hear Tim McGraw singing about a 99-cent heart attack, price not-withstanding, Griff's has to be what he was thinking about. It's serious comfort food when you need it, and it hardly ever, if ever, disappoints.
I have been eating burgers from Griff's since I was about 6 years old, literally.
There was a Griff's right beside my elementary school, Montessori School for Shreveport, across from what was then LSU Medical Center. It's moved twice since then. Thankfully, though, the move was to a location, just a few blocks from the original site. It's just a couple of blocks away, now on Linwood Ave, just north of Kings Highway.
I can't tell you how excited I was after moving to DFW to find several Griff's in the metroplex. I've found one in Irving, and this one in Garland, near Richardson.
I'm a huge fan of a greasy yet delicious burger and fries here!
You'll be happy trying this place, as I always have been. Do it. Just don't go for an LDL cholesterol or triglycerides check within a few days afterward. 🤔
Service gets a one-star ding because whenever they don't have enough staffing, they just shut the inside down and just keep the drive-thru open. That is extremely disappointing, especially when I'm taking a friend or colleague with me for lunch and after bragging about it endlessly, we end up eating in the car or back at work where our burger's are not as piping hot and yummy as they would have been fresh off the grill, or the fries crispy, just out of the fryer. (That was quite the run-on sentence, huh? See, I get so passionate talkng about Griff's burgers and fries, I don't even take a breath).
Whilst they're pretty fast at slinging burgers and fries, the drive-thru can get really backed up... mainly if folks have 'shake' orders. Their shakes are made to order and are really good, but they take time to make.
Personally, I don't order shakes anymore at the drive-thru for that reason.
I haven't checked to see if Griff's takes call-in orders, but if getting shakes, I would highly recommend doing that if you plan on using the drive-thru window if they do.
That's about it. BON...
Read moreWhen you walk in the atmosphere is poppin with a modern look/feel.... TVs and oldies playing....We were jammin to Jody Whaley's New Love! Ozzie was wiping down tables and working hard to assure the facility stays crisp and kleen! He also attends UTI College in Dallas taking up wielding....if y'all see him pls TIP him! As you get to the counter you will hopefully meet Jennifer who will take your order and her knowledge of the menu is amazing! We ordered our traditional #2 and #7, since our college days we remembered what was called "The Sack Lunch" for $5.00. I attempted to explain this to the African American woman with the RED workshirt working drive thru but she literally was either tired or had something more pressing on her mind to engage with me. (She could be a little bit more friendly). But despite her issue, we appreciate her willingness to come to work and wish her much success! Behind her at drive thru was an African American young lady, high school age with a cast on her left forearm/hand....she was giddy as I'm not sure what her counter part said to her to have her laughing as much. At any rate, I then engaged with the Managers named Abby and Ebony who were very friendly and welcoming with big smiles on their faces just like we remembered when visiting Griffs off the campus of Louisiana Tech University. They were running their shift very organized with major customer engagement. (This is the sauce that keeps us coming back) We lastly have to give a shout out to the chef (he has on a tan shirt in one of the photos) because he can cook very well! All the ingredients were fresh, cooked well, tasty and hot!! We highly suggest you visit this location and enjoy the delicious food and drinks they prepare in a wholesome atmosphere. They were unaware that I am a VIRAL Google reviewer and my views have topped 350,000!! Thank you Google community, 🪭 and friends; you make this all possible! ...
Read moreHaven't been to Griffs in a decade due to relocated... Had an AWESOME experience with Melody from when I first came into resturant till I sat down to enjoy my meal. The Manager Frances was very unpleasant to work with, after seeing how she performed/treated me a customer over someting as simple as requesting a better jalapeno package. Thank God Melony stepped in and took care of my request quick & simple. As well as Frances the Manager mistreated a worker who started to search for a better jalapeno pack for me but, Frances rudely snatched bowl away from him while stating there are no good jalapeno packs in there & was quick to give me 32 cents and place change on same tray as my food was on (very unsanitary & rude) so I tossed change off my tray onto counter that's when Melody looked in bowl and found a nice jalapeno pack for me quickly. Melody showed good customer service from beginning to end while Frances was very rude to all (employee's & customer)... Frances I hope you were having a bad day & that is not your normal behavior!!! Griffs keep up the good work and Melody I hope you become a Manager soon so you can show your fellow employee's how to give GOOD...
