Came into this hole in the wall today not knowing what to expect & with a few doubts due to the location I thought I had missed the spot but after coming inside I was very surprised. Instantly I was greeted by the friendly staff behind the counter. They were very fast & very attentive to my needs constantly checking how I was & if I needed anything else. Getting to the food, the food was amazing. Had the chilaquiles verdes & they had just the right amount of spice & flavor, then had a machete that was as big as the table! I was warned in advance but had no idea it was really that big! After receiving my food, the friendly staff talked to me a bit more about their start & their journey since acquiring the location & all I can say is that I am so glad that they are here today & that I came & found this place. I will definitely be coming here again soon to try out more dishes from the great cooks. Everything is handmade & has so much flavor, muchisimas gracias Ana y Olivia por su atencion y buena actitud se los agradezco mucho y regresare muy pronto para comer mas de lo que tienen...

Food was delicious and service was really great. It was our first time in, and the guy who took our order made excellent recs. Got the machete (bc we had to obviously) and now we’ll have leftovers for days. Did 3 different fillings - pastor (awesome), steak (super flavorful), and campechano (excellent homemade chorizo). We also got the taco platter how the guy recommended - homemade corn tortillas, cheese, steak. Excellent rice and beans and a good torreado. Another thing (small but important) - the limes on both plates were chonky and juicy, which is always nice.

The homemade salsas were great - the avocado salsa had a little kick and a lot of tang, and the red salsa looked like it would burn your face off, but was really flavorful and had a little kick from the arbol peppers in it.

Bonus - we also got to buy injera, a loaf of homemade bread (that smells amazing - haven’t had it yet but I think it has anise and nigella seeds in it?), and green coffee beans from the Ethiopian store that this shop shares a space with. All in all, great evening. Will...

Do not come in here unless you’re willing to wait for at least 30 minutes. They have a sign that alerts that Machetes take at least 15-20 Minutes therefore we only ordered Gorditas. At 11:59am. The excuse was that they had to push out to go orders. It’s 12:40pm and they have the food. I had to leave. There’s also a ceiling tile literally dripping. The reviews don’t show the poor conditions this kitchen is in. This is what I get for trying a new place based off reviews. I ordered the borrego (lamb) barbacoa never they were out of res (beef) . Probably won’t be back. The lady at the cash register was super nice, very sweet but lacks experience in managing a kitchen. If I see a small order for dine in I’ll probably push out the quicker one for the guests joining in to eat than ā€œpushing outā€ 3 massive...

Solid food, the place was clean, and the service was super great. My husband and I think we found our New Mexican food/taco spot. Since this place’s cooking style reminds us of Mexico and Cali. Food wasn’t greasy or dry. Tasted fresh, well seasoned, and homemade. And our food didn’t take long to arrive at our table. It also was veeery filling. I’m sure everyone has their own tastes, but, personally, it felt as if a Tia made our food. Which was very comforting. And it was to our liking. In a sea of Tex-Mex, bbq, and fast food, this place’s food made me feel back at home. This place is definitely not fast food and is more a la cart, run by a tiny crew.

I was going to pass this place up just on how it looked, but honestly glad I stopped inside to try it out. I love tacos, especially coming from south Texas, but the carnitas in these tacos had to be hands down the best carnitas I’ve had in tacos. The green chile hit the spot. I got 2 tacos asada, 1 pastor and 1 carnitas. Carnitas was the best, asada then pastor. Food was cheap compared to most taco places too! I’ve had the other restaurants around the area, they don’t compare, good but not as good as this. Will be coming back!

This place has the best chorizo taco I’ve ever tried. So crisp and full of flavor! Definitely order the chorizo taco. The Al pastor, carne asada & barbacoa tacos were good, too. Delicious refried beans. The cucumber drink was tasty. This spot is more proof that Garland has gems. It’s located inside an Ethiopian mart! The owners/chefs are so nice! They asked if it was our first time, and since it was, they gave my friend & I 2 tacos each for free! First taqueria I’ve been to that’s done that.
