Came into this hole in the wall today not knowing what to expect & with a few doubts due to the location I thought I had missed the spot but after coming inside I was very surprised. Instantly I was greeted by the friendly staff behind the counter. They were very fast & very attentive to my needs constantly checking how I was & if I needed anything else. Getting to the food, the food was amazing. Had the chilaquiles verdes & they had just the right amount of spice & flavor, then had a machete that was as big as the table! I was warned in advance but had no idea it was really that big! After receiving my food, the friendly staff talked to me a bit more about their start & their journey since acquiring the location & all I can say is that I am so glad that they are here today & that I came & found this place. I will definitely be coming here again soon to try out more dishes from the great cooks. Everything is handmade & has so much flavor, muchisimas gracias Ana y Olivia por su atencion y buena actitud se los agradezco mucho y regresare muy pronto para comer mas de lo que tienen...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFood was delicious and service was really great. It was our first time in, and the guy who took our order made excellent recs. Got the machete (bc we had to obviously) and now weāll have leftovers for days. Did 3 different fillings - pastor (awesome), steak (super flavorful), and campechano (excellent homemade chorizo). We also got the taco platter how the guy recommended - homemade corn tortillas, cheese, steak. Excellent rice and beans and a good torreado. Another thing (small but important) - the limes on both plates were chonky and juicy, which is always nice.
The homemade salsas were great - the avocado salsa had a little kick and a lot of tang, and the red salsa looked like it would burn your face off, but was really flavorful and had a little kick from the arbol peppers in it.
Bonus - we also got to buy injera, a loaf of homemade bread (that smells amazing - havenāt had it yet but I think it has anise and nigella seeds in it?), and green coffee beans from the Ethiopian store that this shop shares a space with. All in all, great evening. Will...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreDo not come in here unless youāre willing to wait for at least 30 minutes. They have a sign that alerts that Machetes take at least 15-20 Minutes therefore we only ordered Gorditas. At 11:59am. The excuse was that they had to push out to go orders. Itās 12:40pm and they have the food. I had to leave. Thereās also a ceiling tile literally dripping. The reviews donāt show the poor conditions this kitchen is in. This is what I get for trying a new place based off reviews. I ordered the borrego (lamb) barbacoa never they were out of res (beef) . Probably wonāt be back. The lady at the cash register was super nice, very sweet but lacks experience in managing a kitchen. If I see a small order for dine in Iāll probably push out the quicker one for the guests joining in to eat than āpushing outā 3 massive...
