Double Charging*Went for dinner here yesterday. The cashier rang up our order and then I had to slide my card through the veriphone card reader. To my surprise it declined. So the cashier told me to run it again. I did and again the transaction declined. I paid cash, but pulled up my bank account. Literally the cc system showed declined. So, I paid cash. When I reviewed my account, which had plenty of funds and should have never declined, it was showing as a pending transaction. Why would the charge hit my bank if it was declined? Never does this happen, especially when there is money in my account, couldn't get an answer and I was extremely upset and I requested a manager. Virginia told me there was nothing she could do and that she would refund my money. First of all, we came here to eat (been coming here for years via drive thru, dine in, and door dash) explained to her that it didn't make any sense why my bank was charged, as my bank does not let declined transactions even go through. She didn't want to listen and kept telling me to contact my bank. I showed her my phone where it showed as a pending and more than enough money to pay for the meal. Still could provide no answer and began to show an attitude to me and my husband. I asked her why are you getting upset with me as this is a legit concern? I was charged via my bank and I paid cash. I told her yes, refund my money and we left. (She only gave me the refund of the cash I paid). However, my bank is still showing as a pending $19.73 transaction. I asked her for a district or area manager's #. She gave me a number to Salvador. I called twice and still no return call. I tried to contact the corporate number and you have to provide a name, number, and email before proceeding to a phone call in which, it automatically disconnects. So I sent an email via the location we were at explaining in detail the whole situation and I didn't even get a confirmation of them receiving my complaint. So, I do have the local BBB and media. I'm not sure why this couldn't be explained or taken care of, but this is double charging and fraud. I need an explanation. Why couldn't anyone explain to me why I was being double charged and an immediate resolution? And get an attitude and want to rush us out the door and refund my money so quickly??? So for a $20 meal, we would have paid $40??? I hope that there is a response to my email I sent, and resolution. And trying to get in reach with corporate or local management was a total joke. Customers be aware of this shady and fraudulent business practice with no follow up from anyone. update: Filed a complaint with the BBB: 06/10/2021 around 5:45 - 6:00pm Ticket #4155 Claimed card declined via veriphone for $19.73, I was told to try again. I tried to explain to them that I was charged and communication barrier existed as English apparently was a secondary language, but I finally got Virginia (the MOD) and I tried to explain to her the issue and that there was nothing she could do and that I needed to contact my bank. I asked why? And she gave a major attitude and told me, "ill just refund your money." I asked for district manager and she gave me a number to Salvador and no return call as of yet. I said I wanted told her. She was about to charge me additional $17.00 plus $14. No no I said I want my money back. She grabs the food idc i left it on table I wasent going to eat that. She said No i cant get my money back. I asked to speak to a manager. She goes I am one. And started talking in spanish. Hello i under everything u said which i wont say online. After all that i show her receipt and get my money back i asked for receipt. She threw it away in trash. I asked another employee she asks her she digs in trash and shows me but i cant even read it she rips out out my hand. She wouldnt give me her name . So corporate if u see this u need to Fire her. And btw the number dont work up there line stays busy. So this was very unfortunate for my babies who wanted this . If i could do no stars...
Let's see, where do I begin. We decided to use the $5 off a $10 coupon. The coupon was not applied to our receipt. We brought it to the lady's attention. After much discussion about it, and while our food got cold, she gave us the $5 back in cash but if we hadn't noticed it hmmm then the order was missing an item and we were given something else in its place. I had started eating on it and they had the nerve to ask for it back to throw it away! It wasn't until we were almost finished eating when the lady brought the correct item. We accepted it graciously. The last thing I remember was that they had ran out of all tea, unsweet & sweet and weren't making anymore!!! We had 1 glass. Too lazy to make it because it was around 8:15 pm and they were open for a few more hours! All I have to say is Good Luck to all who enter Taco Bueno at this location....
