Trompo Taqueria & Burgers — Restaurant in Garland

Waiting on the phone for 15minutes after being put on hold to make a 2 item carry out order, I decided to just drive up there and place my order in person.. my girlfriend and I were planning on enjoying some drinks while we wait in the lobby. Once we arrived we were surprised to see only a single customer, and the two girls behind the register flirting with him. They were just messing around and yelling too one another. 22min wait with only one customer ahead of us. Food was good as always, but did i mention they gave me the wrong order and luckily I checked the boxes? Which unfortunately probably went to another person after I touched it which isnt okay during this pandemic (Covid-19).

Last time we came our order was incorrect, and not even close to what we ordered, but it was still good, and we both enjoyed our meals after a 40min wait (25mins for two togo boxes and an additional 15mins for fries that were forgotten)

Overall this place has been going downhill ever since our first visit. Food is great like always but the employees are making fools of themselves at everyone else's expense.

EDIT: Never going back. Plain and simple. Theyve lost my business and respect. Three times in a row they've given me the incorrect order as well as an added bonus to my girlfriend frozen margarita, a few bugs for taste. Thats right, we found 5 larger looking gnats in one drink. Once we looked at the other drinks under a light we could see they all had floating little buddies.

First and last time! 😠Very bad customer service and they charge for pineapple in the tacos al pastor (trompo) when is one of the key ingredients of those tacos.😠 First the cashier took the order wrong (adding 2 bottle sodas and 1 fresh water), we wanted 1 soda (cashier saw that we took it from the refrigerator) and when my husband went for the food he asked for my horchata, they asked which size when they already charged for an extra soda of 3.25, so the fresh water sizes sm 2.50 and med 3.50 so they gave the small horchata to my husband (so they owe us 0.75 cents 😡but they didn't notice because I guess they don't know the numbers just when they have to charge, I asked for pineapple in my tacos al pastor, they said they charge it, I said it's ok, I taught they will put the pineapple and then they will charge it, so they made us pay for pineapple before eating the tacos that were becoming cold, 🤬my husband was making line, I told him to come back to the table, my tacos were cold already and he was still in the line to pay, at last I saw the order's ticket, made numbers and told they how unsatisfied we were because they horrible service, they understood when I explained them like 2 or 3 times because they don't know numbers, they asked me if I wanted a drink or my 0.75 cents that they owed us, told them to keep it. I still don't know how much they charge for the pineapple because it's not in the extra side...

Tonight I need to edit my previous review. For months we have loved Trompo Taco. We have eaten here frequently, driven 20 minutes to pick up an order to take home multiple times, brought in our friends and referred others. Tonight, while to food was still delicious, the service was atrocious. We ordered online, dand then drove from our home near Firewheel Mall all the way over to Trompi. My husband got our order and drove all the way home (it takes about 20 minutes). When we opened our food to eat we found that our daughter's food was not in the package. Then found that although we ordered 25 tacos, we only had 4 salsa cups and a tablespoon at best of cilantro and onions. When my husband called about the missing food the lady on the phone was rude and acted like it wasnt her problem. She then acted even ruder when my husband drove ALL the way back to get my daughters food. I hope this isnt how this place is going to start being. It's a good thing the food is great! When you go to a restaurant and they refer to the main staple as "their baby" you know it's going to taste fantastic. This place did not disappoint. Trompo tacos were amazing as was the barbacoa. Great prices too. We will definitely be back to try sopes and gorditas too. You can tell the owners and staff take pride in the food and...
