Wanna gain 50 pounds in one night AND get too drunk to remember it? La Cascada is the place for you!
La Cascada's menu is filled with VERY oversized entrees, as is typical of most Mexican restaurants, but that's not to say that the food isn't incredible, because it is. I don't eat here often, and I can't say how "authentic" the menu is, but the dishes are very fairly priced, very delicious, and very, VERY large.
Oddly enough, they also have a fully stocked bar in-house, which serves equally large and delicious cocktails, most of which are so overproofed that you'll probably forget how much you ate.
The staff is always friendly, and it's not at all uncommon to see a server or a manager sit down at a table with someone and carry on a conversation for a while if the restaurant isn't very busy. It's a very relaxed, very welcoming restaurant that makes you feel completely at home, and that's a rarity in this day and age, and a welcome addition to the...
Read morewent to la cascada for the first time last week. Ordered our food and waited FOREVER for it to get to our table while others that ordered after us got their food, ate and left before we got ours. I ordered shredded chicken chimichanga with fish added and my husband ordered the seafood chimichanga with chicken added. When we finally got our food mine was not shredded chicken and it had beef in it which I did not order. Mine also had something else that I'm not 100% sure what it was in it. My husband's did not have any chicken and the crab meat was disgusting. His also had something in it that we don't know what it was. We told the waiter and he said it was crab meat but it was in mine too and I did not order it (glad I'm not allergic)! the waiter did take my meal off the ticket since it was wrong. We got up to pay and they tried charging an extra 1.35 for my margarita! Definitely NOT worth going to and make sure you check your ticket...
Read moreI had a seafood Chimichanga with shrimp and crabmeat, which did not have real crabmeat. The restaurant used the imitation crabmeat that you can buy an entire package for $5 at Meijers. It was okay, and very disappointing.
My husband ordered a carnita Chimichanga, but his order came out the same as mine. The order was written right, but got mixed up with someone else's. My husband doesn't like to complain, so he didn't say anything to the server. The host never asked how our meal was, either.
Because the dining room is mostly tile, sounds are echoed a lot. The restaurant echoed a lot and the dining experience was not an enjoyable one.
My take away, pass on this place... •Cheap ingredients trying to pass off as more expensive ingredients •Sounds like a cafeteria instead of a restaurant and wrong order delivered to my husband •If they don't ask how your meal was, that means they don't care ● just go...
