Chicken King Gastonia — Restaurant in Gastonia

We were on our way back to Atlanta from high point North Carolina when we decided to stop and grab something to eat. We didn't want the everyday fast food but we found this spot in Gastonia. To some people the outside may be intimidating, but I assure you that they are extremely friendly and the food is delicious. My daughter got the fried chicken tenders and onion rings, and my wife and I both got a 2 piece white meat. We both also got potato salad and fried oakra. My daughter thought that The Onion rings were absolutely delicious and she couldn't finish her chicken tenders. They give you that much! She said that the chicken tenders were delicious. Let me tell you that they must have somebody's grandmother in the kitchen because the potato salad and fried chicken Taste like the food you get at church! It did not need any hot sauce or barbecue sauce or any additional seasoning. It was that good. I would recommend for anyone who is stopping through Gastonia...

While I love the food, the customer service is not up to par. I had to explain that I wanted my bacon limp in 3 different ways. I get that it's very unusual for someones to ask for that, but come on! At first she thought I wanted nothing but bacon on my BLT, then she thought I wanted crispy bacon, she finally got it after I said I didn't want my bacon done, NOT done! Then she got an attitude when I couldn't understand what she was saying. Then when I asked for my order total, she named off the price for everything individually, instead of giving me a total with tax. Honestly, I probably won't return just because of the staff and their unprofessionalism. It's sad that the food is so great, but people don't want to return because it's a headache to...

Prices on the website in Google don't match when you get to the restaurant. I asked the owner why and he said "check Facebook". I told him that I don't have Facebook and he shrugged his shoulders. Order was missing a side.... AGAIN. Customer is front of me also had a wrong order. Very dirty the last time I went in there. They don't even have a trash can for you to use and this is a RESTAURANT! I will never eat there again especially after my stomach hurt for hours. You would think they would be MUCH better especially during a Pandemic where they should be glad they're even open.
