While Showmars claim at being Greek is about authentic as the affection you receive from the waitresses at Hooters (bro, she's totally into me), it's still a change of pace from the countless fish camps and barbecue joints in the area. I always question the validity of a fish camp that is no where close to a river. Caught fresh daily, yeah ok. The last time I ate showmars it was the older location on Franklin. My wife got sick some way or another. She nor I can fully blame showmars but she got sick and it was near the same time that we had dined there and so they may well have been unjustly deemed the scapegoat. Either way we decided to take a chance on them again recently and the newer 321 spot is closer so that's where we chose. Promptly greeted by the table cleaner food runner guy we made our way to order. My son has been discovering his independence lately and so while we were deciding what to get some took to the counter and bantered with the clerk. When she asked what drink he wanted he said lemonade and she then looked to us and asked "is that ok?" Of course we said yes, but such a simple gesture is becoming all too forgotten in these days where everyone is justified in their actions and accountability is a trait seen as weak and daft. It wasnt long ago my son was out with his aunt and was acting like a drunk crackhead and all around misbehaving. The waitress came up and without second thought handed my son a lollipop or candy of sort. Luckily my sister in law is savage and took it from him and proceeded to tell the waitress everyone that was wrong about her action. She scoffed and walked away probably muttering something about how millenials have ruined another industry. But back to the showmars girl, such a simple act that she probably put no second thought into shows a lot of respect. I mean its not like he he ordered sundrop or a beer, but considerate people are hard to find these days and so I must adapt and I suppose that means celebrating mediocrity. Oh right, food. My authentic Grecian bacon cheeseburger on pita was great. My wife ate her food too. We left full so I guess that means...
Read moreShowmars has always been one of my favorite places to eat. This location has made some changes for the worst & some of the food is not as good as it used to be. When they first opened I was given a 10% discount card that could be used anytime I called in my order & picked up from the drive thru window. When I went a few weeks ago I showed them my card like I normally do & the young lady said “we no longer accept that.” I was like ok and didn’t make a big deal out of it. I had ordered a chocolate milkshake with my meal & after leaving I started to drink it & it was terrible. It taste like vanilla ice cream mixed with chocolate syrup (you know just like the ones from all the other fast food restaurants which I never order because I don’t care for them). So fast forward a few weeks, I call in my order & request a chocolate milk shake to be made with chocolate ice cream. The lady on the phone said, we no longer have chocolate ice cream so I said then don’t worry about that I will just get some food & I ordered a pita burger. I went inside to pick up my order & saw that they offered strawberry milk shakes so I asked if they used strawberry ice cream. The young guy replies no we only have vanilla ice cream since we went corporate. I said the milk shakes are not as good as what they used to be & he shrugged his shoulders & acted like he couldn’t care less. I left & ate my pita burger in the car. The hamburger patties looked and tasted just like a McDonald’s hamburger patty which to me is disgusting. The whole thing was bland & did not have much flavor except for the onions and all I could taste was onions. So apparently since they went “corporate” at this location they have made some very poor business decisions. I can only hope the other locations don’t go down hill as this location has. I may not ever go back. It’s really unfortunate that the food is not good quality anymore because I used to...
Read moreThe food was delicious, but they had the worst customer service that I have ever witnessed and received. When I called in my order, you could barely understand what they were saying over the phone. You would have thought it was 1300 rush hour, and the restaurant was packed with how fast they were talking. Once I arrived, there were two employees at the front counter, yelling across to one another about having chick-fil-a for lunch while a customer was trying to ask them a question. There was one person in the dining area, a couple at the counter, then me. Not as busy as I had assumed. Once I approached the counter to retrieve my order, one young lady read it back to me so quickly that she sounded incoherent. When asked her to slow down and repeat, she says it even faster. After telling her my order, another young lady handed me the food. I'm not sure if they're attempting to imitate one another with the speed of speech. They seemed very young and in need of being educated on etiquette. If one can tell another in a different language, that they're "so ready to eat" in a Normal Cadence for Speech - that is coherent, I do not understand why you cannot conduct yourself in a similar manner when...
