Played Cherry Blossom on 28Sep25 and it was in the worst shape I have ever seen a "Public" golf course in for the rates they are charging, carrying a laundry list of issues that a course charging $70 a round should NEVER have. Firstly the course conditions were abysmal and every member and person living on that course should be ashamed of, the fairways looked like my back yard and were 2-3 inches tall, IF they had grass, there were many barren spots and places actuals chunks of the ground were gone, hitting the fairway most times would result in your ball being 2/3 buried in grass (photo attached). The Lexington area had 4" of rain in the prior 10 days and it appeared the course had not been mowed in weeks. The rough was 8"-10" in most places and your ball was unfindable many times. The bunkers looked like they had been through a hurricane and the sand was all piled in the middle and was hard as a rock to the point you couldn't even rake and place and you could walk on it and barely leave spike marks, again it had not rained in 4 days. Next the facilities were awful, the bathrooms in the clubhouse had no toilet paper and the paper towel dispensers were all empty, nearly every garbage can on the course was overflowing with cans and hadn't been emptied all weekend it appeared. Finally the staff at the clubhouse / bar are trying to run people out of there with how rude they are. When checking in they informed 2 military veterans in my group that they only did military discounts to active military (apparently those who served in active combat zones in the last 10-20 years, don't matter here), and when ordering at the bar the bartender was beyond rude when we politely asked for ice, stating "it would be pretty stupid if I didn't give you ice now wouldn't it"? Overall this course is not worth playing unless you like wasting your time and money, DO NOT COME HERE. It is the most expensive course in the Lexington metro area and one of the worst maintained with the...
Read moreI would love to give Cherry Blossom a higher rating because I’ve played there in years past and really enjoyed it... but unfortunately I’m sticking with one star until I see significant improvement.
Played the course In a foursome during the 4th of July weekend 2020. Started off unable to get a cart until about 3 minutes before our tee time. We had to grab two that had not been cleaned. Directly behind us were a single and 4 twosomes, all of which we let play through. Strike one for poor scheduling.
The rough was completely dried out and crispy, with patches of bare dirt spots. In the areas where the rough had access to water, it was green and so thick that greenside chipping was a nightmare. The tee boxes were beat up, unkempt, and unleveled. The greens were also very dry and beat up, having an almost “springy” effect if hit from more than 50 yards out. Strike two for upkeep.
At more than $40, the course demands a premium price for the area. While reasonable in comparison to the golf prices in tourist destinations, the fact is that you can play almost any course in the area for less. The premium price does not provide a premium experience. Strike three for value.
To summarize, I cannot recommend this course until some major changes are made. There are a number of courses in the area that provide a better experience with better upkeep for a...
Read more12/2019 recent visit, greens are the best I've ever seen ( lived here for 5 years ) them so go play now!!! They are perfectly firm and they've cut them tight so quick and roll true!! Hopefully in 2020 more cart paths can get some needed work/replaced but otherwise the course is in great shape for winter time
Play this track from the tips and it's all you want, the layout is great because for the most part the whole course is right in front of you...a few holes have some tricky shots that are risk reward of course which makes it pretty fun; 16,17 & 18 are a solid stretch to finish your round and a missed shot on any one of those holes can lead to a double or worse... Greens are good sized and have a good amount of undulation in them so tournament time not only some tough pins to take direct aim at but short side yourself and you better have a great flop shot game or bogey-double right around the corner... Large restaurant seating area with a decently stocked pro shop, Thursday night men's league come on out when in season, good group of guys play on Sundays too... Good putting green and great 2 green chipping and flop shot...
