Good (overpriced) pizza but deplorable customer experience. I just left the restaurant after picking up a call-in order. As I entered, I was greeted by the backs of - what seemed to be - the entire staff (at least seven people). They were all congregated around the drink station, chatting amongst each other. None of the staff acknowledged me and actually failed to move for another customer who was trying to wade through them. Several of the staff members broke away to walk through the door (behind me), making an effort to avoid eye contact or speak to me. After an extended time standing at the counter, a young lady approached and asked if I had been helped (clearly not). She proceeded to apologize for my wait, explaining they were "dealing with a little issue." After I received my pizza, I proceeded to exit the door, when I met two staff members at the threshold. Thinking that I would be given the courtesy of the right-of-way, I continued to exit. Not the case in the least. The two staff members (one later identified as the manager) pushed themselves past me. I became extremely frustrated and rushed out. As I did, I heard one of the staff members say something under their breath that sounded like "chill out." I promptly turned around and asked to speak to the manager, who assured me that the other staff member was simply stating I was rushing to get out because I was in a hurry. Although this could have been the case, I made it clear that I was displeased with the service or lack thereof. The manager explained that there was an overly intoxicated customer they were trying to coordinate a safe ride home... I appreciate that they took care of that customer (whom they served too many drinks perhaps) but did it require the ENTIRE staff's attention? Spoiler alert: it did not. If this were the first time I had been ignored when picking up an order, I would have have brushed off the bad experience. Unfortunately, however, this is at least the third time that I have walked in and had staff members walk away, avoid eye contact, and even turn their back when they noticed I was there. On one occasion I was the third person in line and multiple staff members avoided serving any of us. On a completely separate instance one of the servers slammed their hand (containing a customer's check) on the counter, interrupting my interaction with the staff member helping and exclaimed, "that's what I call a tip!" Through these negative experiences, it has become abundantly clear that the focus of Fat Kats is NOT on providing good - or even courteous service - to its customers. The overpriced pizza is good but not good enough to tolerate the poor service. Though I love to support local businesses, I will not return...
Read moreMy family moved to Georgetown and the first night one of neighbors bought us some pizza from FatKats. It was great. I was excited and ordered it again a week later. I went to pickup my food which I got a notice was ready. (I live very close)
I pulled up to the pickup window and rang the bell. No one came for 5 minutes (I checked the clock). I checked and rang again every 3 minutes after that for a total of 15 minutes. Several times associates would walk by the windows and not even talk to me. When they finally decided to open the window, I informed the associate I had been waiting for almost 20 minutes. The response was "Yeah we're busy" No apologies or anything. Thankfully the food was good again but, I could tell it had been sitting a few minutes and was not as fresh as the first time. I chalked this up to just being a bad day and moved on.
The next time we ordered my wife did not receive the loaded cheese fries and I did not get the cheese I paid extra a $1.50 extra for on my sandwich.
The food here is wonderful but the service has been consistently awful from my personal experience. I can not recommend it and will not be ordering it until they try to earn the business back. We like to order pizza every week and support local however I can't support bad service and be consistently disappointed.
If FatKats contacts me and tries to make this right I will gladly update this review but I'm going to put the ball in their court to make it right. I would like to continue to support the small business but they need to get their...
Read moreWe arrived at Fat Kats Pizza around 6:30 pm with three kids. Although the restaurant was full inside, we were fine sitting outside since it was around 70 degrees. We placed our order and expected a quick meal. What followed was an absolute nightmare.
At first, everything was okay. But as 20 minutes turned into 30, then 40, the temperature started dropping. By the time we hit an hour of waiting, it was getting cold, and my kids were starting to shiver. No one even bothered to check on us or offer to move us inside—that is, until another family sitting outside was asked if they’d like to move in due to the cold. I had to speak up myself to request the same, despite the fact that my kids were wrapped in blankets from our car because they were freezing.
When we were finally moved inside, they crammed five of us into a tiny booth and we continued waiting. By the hour and a half mark, I saw our pizza come to the window… and then watched in disbelief as the “cook” used his bare hands to pick things off our pizza. When I asked the waitress about it, she casually responded, “Yes, it was just basil.”
Just basil? Completely unacceptable! At that point, I told them we wanted to leave, and they still charged us for drinks and a side salad without any real apology or acknowledgment of how terrible this experience was.
What started as a tolerable evening became one of the worst dining experiences we’ve ever had. Do yourself a favor and avoid Fat Kats Pizza—they clearly don’t care about their customers, especially families with...
