The barbecue sandwiches at Moes are OK and only because they are slightly sauce. Recently when we visited for the second time I ordered a pound of barbecue and it had zero sauce as it is smoked it seems- it was very dry, we had to add our own they provde one type-the sauce is red and although it is vinegar-based which I enjoy, it is too thick in my opinion and though I like spice it had entirely too much pepper. They do offer a nice twist on Jojo‘s (for those of you that don’t know the term these are fried potato wedges) but they called them truckstop taters and they deep fry them, breaded and serve them with Yum Yum sauce-they are really good. The coleslaw was average, crunchy but it was a bit on the sweet side for me and it had pickled red onions and green peppers that definitely could have been cut into bite-size portion. Of the family meal for 25$ we ordered it included 1 pound of barbecue your choice of pork chicken or turkey and 2 sides. It only came with either two corn bread and two hamburger buns or four of either choice, the cornbread was dry and the hamburger buns were basic great value Walmart small buns, yet they were toasted. I would not recommend Moes. The staff was extremely helpful when asking family meal suggestions and patient, it was clean. Screened porch...
Read moreWould not recommend. I visited for the first time on a Sunday afternoon. I called in an order at 5pm and was quoted a pickup time 20 minutes later, which is the time it takes to get there from home. They weren’t very busy and I paid for my order. I got a pulled pork platter with an additional side and added on wings. I had anticipated prices to have increased since the last menu uploaded on google maps 4 years ago but really didn’t expect to pay $25+. Everything had increased by several dollars with smaller portions. I paid for my meal and got my drink then sat on a stool near the bar. Several people came in and ordered. And I waited. I finally got my Togo order at 5:50pm. 50 minutes after I had initially ordered, and an additional 30 minutes I sat waiting in the restaurant, which is unacceptable. I finally got home and the portions were also a disappointment. It didn’t come with any bbq sauce or cornbread. The wings had an Alabama sauce. We ended up using sauce we had in the fridge.
Overall, the food quality wasn’t anything to write about, the portions were small compared to overall value, and the service was lacking. I will not...
Read moreMy husband and I live locally in the Murrells Inlet area. This weekend being a holiday weekend the traffic is extra going towards Myrtle so we decided to drive down towards Litchfield for lunch today. He ordered the pulled pork, potato salad, and homemade potato chips. He said the potato salad was terrible, the pulled pork was bland and really dried out and he ate the potato chips. I had the smoked turkey, Mac n cheese and green beans. The green beans had zero seasoning and tasted like they were straight out of a can, the Mac n cheese has to be even more bland that the Kraft kind you get out of a box. It literally tasted like the pasta noodle itself and was extremely dry and crunchy. I gave it a 2 star review because the Turkey although bland and dry I did manage to eat a piece of it. Also, on a side note if you are looking for southern sweet tea to go with your food this place is definitely not it. The sweet tea may have had a hint of sugar in it. Highly disappointed we literally left and went and ordered food at...
