We went in Tuesday 3/26 at 6pm. Place was busy but got even busier. 2 servers & 1 bartender. 4 adults and 1 child. 3 adults ordered meals, I ordered brisket nachos (appitizer) and the virgilio pizza. Brisket nachos did not come out as appitizer. Came out with the rest of everyone's food. Ty did not bring us the food so when she came by to check on us, I asked if my pizza was coming, she said she'd go check on it. We also ordered another water & Moscow mule. She brought the water right away but after 20 minutes, still no pizza or mule. She came by and said sorry kitchen is backed up, we mentioned the mule again and she said "oh bartender is still making it, do you want me to cancel it?" We said yes since we were already done eating our meals. She comes back with pizza and says "oh I took the second mule off your ticket and I compted the pizza". We said "oh then we'll take the mule". She said "ok I'll get it". Hey if she isn't going to charge us for her forgetting to ask the bartender for another one, we'll take what we ordered for free. Guess what? Mule never came. She came over and asked if we wanted the bill. At this point, we said forget the mule, we are over this. We said yes we'll take the bill, she was holding a credit card machine, then she just walks away & doesn't come back for 10 minutes and we see her taking another tables order. She comes back with bill and it has a 3% service charge. For what? Not sure and no one around to ask. Annoying. We finally gave up trying to give her our credit card to pay so we went to the front and had them check us out. We were seated next to the bar and wow that bartender busted her butt. She was serving everyone at the bar, the rectangle tables behind and making all the cocktails for the whole place. Could thay be why we didn't get our second mule? I don't this so. I think Ty forgot. I also think Ty did not order my pizza when we all ordered our food together. Or else they wouldn't have brought me my nachos out with everyone else's meals. Oh yeah I forgot, I asked for no banana peppers on nachos. When the meals came out, my nachos didn't and Ty came by and whispered to me that the kitchen put banana peppers on it and they had to remake it. They came out 5 minutes later. So when I questioned Ty about my pizza, she took out her handheld machine and said "let me go check" then comes back 5 minutes later apologizing saying the kitchen is backed up. 20 minutes later pizza comes. Ty, you forgot to order it, just admit it and don't blame someone else because you don't want to look bad. Well now for lying not once, but twice, you look worse. Their Facebook page had a video posted of the owner saying come in Tuesday, we have new foods on the menu, we came Tuesday, and no new food. Shocker, another lie. Same menu as online when I looked at it last week trying to determine which restaurant we should try next. Now let's get to the food - my brisket nachos were amazing. Didn't think that they'd be my meal, I wanted them as an app to share and then eat the pizza. Well since the pizza didn't come for 20 minutes after receiving nachos, I ate them all. Boxed up the pizza. My daughter loved her kids mac and cheese. Homemade is always better, thank you for having that unlike all other restaurants using Kraft. Cannot comment on the other 3 adult meals because I did not try them but $8 for a cup of she crab soup, phew!!!!!!! The food saved our experience. The beer wall is a cool concept. On the bill we were charged 25 cents to use the beer wall??? I mean we have to serve ourselves the beer and we still have to pay a fee? Hmmm. A full pint of beer is ~$10-$12. Not a great price if you want to go out to have a couple beers. Good concept if you want to try a whole bunch of different bears, get yourself an ounce. Ty was on the other side of the restaurant most of the time. I also overheard the table next to us of 6, complaining to Ty about something she forgot Bottom line, 2 servers is not enough servers to service a restaurant of 60+ people. And...
Read moreI was super excited about this place opening because I’m familiar with the “pour wall” concept from other taprooms I’ve visited prior. My experience here definitely wasn’t the best but at some point I’ll be willing to try again I think, maybe after they become a little more established?
The beer selection was great in my opinion and is the reason I’d want to visit again at some point. Unfortunately we didn’t try their food this time as they were running a limited menu due to offsite catering but that was no issue for us. I didn’t really have a single positive experience with any employee though, honestly they treated my friend and I that walked in there like we were stupid when we weren’t sure how everything worked at this particular taproom…and they had been open for only about a month at this point and again, this was our first time here 😬 so I was turned off by feeling like we weren’t welcome to ask questions/get to know how things are run a little better. I mean no disrespect as I understand maybe these folks were busy, having a rough day, etc buuuut we were left feeling uneasy by how things were going and did end up leaving sooner than we had anticipated, and we made a little drive to get here so that was unfortunate.
They also failed to mention to me the $10 hold they put on your card and I almost called my bank to dispute a charge I didn’t authorize but luckily it did eventually drop. I tried to contact them multiple times over the phone to question about if they put a hold on your card (so I wasn’t calling my bank to dispute something that would eventually drop) but they actually never answered the several times I called over a few days. I didn’t find it necessary enough to continue reaching out over it or anything but I did think it was worth mentioning here as I would have liked to be made aware of the hold beforehand personally.
Even with the experience we had I will still say that It’s a nice atmosphere, nice new concept for the area, good beer selection, family friendly if that’s something you’re interested in, and hopefully once they are a little more established it will be that place we were really hoping for. There is a lot of potential and I hope a better experience is in store...
Read moreThis was a ‘one and DONE’. This place looks really nice from the outside and is really beautiful on the inside but we will NEVER come back! First clue of a concern was that in a Friday night, at 6:30p there was nobody there! Hello! We should have walked out immediately! We generally love sitting at the bar to have our dinner so we walked around the corner and sat down. There was no bartender around for a few minutes! When we were finally greeted, he (Scott) had no personality and wasn’t very welcoming! He asked if we were going to eat and gave us menus! I asked about the beer stations and he took our licenses and showed us how everything worked! We each grabbed a beer and sat back down to decide what to eat! I asked the bartender what food they’re know for and he really couldn’t answer me but said the burgers are good! What??? I asked what the soup of the day was and he didn’t know, so he asked the waitress who informed us that it was loaded baked potato and they were out of the She Crab Soup! It was 6:30, how are they out of She Crab soup??? We ordered the charcuterie board to start! My wife ordered the edamame and the mussels for her dinner. I ordered the black and blue burger, with sweet potato fries! The charcuterie board was nothing more than something they bought at Costco and unwrapped to put on the board! How embarrassing! The edamame seemed to be microwaved as some of the pods were hot on the end and cold in the center! Her mussels were just OK! My burger was OK, but the sweet potato fries were flimsy and luke warm! Now for the Beer Wall… they charge a .25 charge per person and charge by the ounce of beer! Our first beers were fine but when we went back to refill, there were 5 IPA’s that were dead! I told the bartender that the kegs were out and he said he’d check on them. After 30 minutes, not one was changed, nor did he respond that there was an issue! There are too many really good restaurants in Pawleys to waste you time/ money at...
