Sone Hibachi — Restaurant in South Carolina

I have been coming here for almost 10 yrs. I have never once, been upset or disappointed with this place. The old owners were an adorable older couple, they knew every customer like their own family members. The new owners are starting on the same path. They made sure the new owners would love the town and shop like they did. The food is always good and super filling. The prices match and are completely reasonable. The shop itself is a small little hole in the wall, but don’t let that stop you. They get super busy and still manage to get orders right and flowing. I’d rather come here than most hibachi places around town. 10/10...

This is the saddest day of my life.

We’ve been waiting so eagerly for Sone to open back up, we thought they were just redecorating. But it turns out they are under new management.

This place used to be an institution. The food was amazing every time. Now it’s so awful. Unseasoned, dry, bland, and sad. :(

Thank you so much to the previous owners for many great years, you were such hard workers and I hope you thoroughly enjoy your retirement! Sone will never be the same.

Unfortunately, the hibachi filet and shrimp dinner was sub-par at best. I ordered the filet rare & it was beyond well done. The shrimp were so overcooked that they were extremely chewy. The rice & veggies were good, but too much rice & not enough protein or veggies for the $6 price increase. I'm hoping that with a little more time open with new owners & chefs, they will get the hang of hibachi food & Sone will once again be a Pawleys Island go-to. The staff is fantastic & the interior upgrades were much needed & look lovely. Overall, not a horrible experience & one that is...
