I was really excited when this place was coming to Georgetown after looking at the menu. I work about 2.5 miles from this location so it was a perfect place to pick up breakfast on the way in or order online for pickup at lunch.
My first time in was I think the 2nd day it opened so it was a little busy but what struck me was that while the manager guy talked to a few people and a couple of other employees were speaking to some I was pretty much ignored. Not a big deal, it was busy and lots going on. They called out for what I thought was my name and a guy who was talking to the manager grabbed it so I assumed I misheard. Then they called what I thought was my name again I go up and about the time I'm walking out the manager and the other guy stop me and ask what I got. Apparently the guy grabbed my order but I was told 'oh you got the wrong bag' from the manager guy he swapped bags but said nothing else.
Over the next 2-3 weeks (can't remember when it actually opened) I have been in about 8 times. Like I said I was excited about this place and really wanted to like it. My overall impressions have been pretty mixed. The food is decent, some of it is pretty good. The sides have been good. I tried the brisket on a taco one day, and on a breakfast roll another day and it was pretty good. Shells and cheese were good, the baked potato casserole was good, Tomato soup was good. The breakfast taco's overall have been ok, most of the ones I ordered have had some variation of potato as one of the items and while they are ok they have an interesting texture. The eggs on the tacos have been hard to tell they were there. I'm not sure if it's how they mix them in with the other items or what.
The sandwiches have been mixed as well. The club was good, one day I ordered the half turkey on the roll and it literally came with turkey, cheese and the roll. The turkey was nothing special. The grilled cheese was similar, nothing special Overall everything is a bit overpriced which I wouldn't mind if it was really good but most things have been pretty average.
So I've been in I think 8 times and here is the part that finally got me today. There seems to be people that the staff greet, speak with like they are trying to build relationships but half of the times I have been in there hasn't even been a greeting when coming in. 2 visits ago there was one young guy that was like 'nice to see you again sir'. Another time I had placed a to go order and it was taking a long time and one lady asked my name to check on it since I had been there a while (it took 40 minutes from the time I ordered online and arrived at the 20 minute mark that my e-mail said it would be ready). Even when I ordered and ate there in the dining room there wasn't much. The first week it was open I was in 3 days in a row, made eye contact with the manager guy several times and he never tried to speak with me other than the 1st day when the guy he was talking to got my order.
This morning was what really bothered me. I come in and there are only 2 other customers in the building and a couple of employees are speaking to them. I make eye contact with one lady as I'm walking in and go to the side I have been told was where you order and no one is there so I wait as the same lady looks at me again from the other side as I wait at the register. When she didn't acknowledge me still (there are a total of 3 employees standing there together, and another near by) I started my timer to see how long it would be. Yes I know it wasn't long but at the 2 minute mark (after already waiting a small amount of time) of no one saying anything I was ready to leave so I started to walk out and another employee said something to me and I just 'that's ok thanks' and left. Not sure what the deal is but this does not seem like the place I was hoping for. I...
Read moreIf you’re looking for a place that serves mouthwatering breakfast tacos and hearty sandwiches with a side of small-town charm, look no further than Texas Honey Ham in Georgetown! This is the second location from the same folks who brought us the original spot(Westlake), and I can confidently say—it’s just as incredible.
From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with warm smiles and the smell of sizzling bacon and fresh tortillas. The breakfast tacos are packed with flavor (and filling enough to fuel your whole morning), and the sandwiches? Let’s just say you’ll be dreaming about them long after lunch.
But what really sets Honey Ham apart is their dedication to the community. It’s more than a restaurant—it’s a gathering spot. Whether it’s supporting local events, greeting customers by name, or just making sure everyone leaves full and happy, the owners clearly care about being a positive part of Georgetown life.
Great food. Great people. Great addition to the...
Read moreBreakfast plate was ok but tacos were very filling and worth their price. Even though food was ok, I will say the manager today went above and beyond with customer service which gave it 5 stars. I walked in during lunch for my order and got home noticing half my order was missing so I was very annoyed because the drive took 30min round trip and I even asked the girl if this is my full order before leaving. They got the manager, who I forgot to catch his name, but he was going to refund my full order (which isn’t the point. It was the annoyance that it was my meal that was missing) but he was going to personally deliver it! WHAT?! Nobody ever offers that. It’s always a refund for whatever was missing or I can drive back. It gave the best impression of this business so out of that respect, I recommend them. I will definitely come back to try more items. Thank you for your accommodations and...
