American Deli — Restaurant in Georgia

This location must have recently undergone management/ staff changes or has new policies. I called in around 9:30 when I got off work for a pick up order. Simple Philly Cheesesteak combo I've gotten before. The person who answered did not have as strong grasp of the English language as I would prefer. He was unable to clearly communicate that my order would be made AFTER payment. As in I would have to give him my card details over the phone and then they'd start cooking. When I get to the store and give my phone number expecting an order ready, the two cooks standing in the back start moving to begin. A bit perturbed but I grab my drink and walk outside to cool off. After about 3 minutes, the cashier comes out and tells me it's ready. Which definitely doesn't sound right. Cause I could wait 3 minutes to get fresh hot cooked food. But I've had this philly before. Even in dead hours, takes about 6-8 minutes for them to cook it here. I'm presented a haphazardly tossed set of undercooked fries and my sandwich. Usually the sight and smell of this sandwich will calm any mood. This was not the case. The cheese hasn't melted fully as I can still see its circular edge on the usually piping hot bread. I touch both to verify. They definitely rushed my order to go home. If only I had called in when they usually start shutting down so the grill was still hot and able to properly...

They use to be great but recently they have started price gauging. Their customer service also is very lack luster. The food quality is a hit or miss. They also will purposely turn off the phones during their rushes because the staff cannot manage the orders. The store needs to go back to being the American Deli so many of us have come to love. Decent prices, decent food, and great customer service. So many people are currently relying on these take-away’s because of the pandemic. With how they are currently running things I would not be surprised if they lose majority of their business based off how rude, greedy, and downgrading their quality of food has been during these hard times.

We visited American Deli several times in the last couple of months. They are typically spot on with the food and pricing. The food is tasty and fast and TYPICALLY we have no issues but when there's a problem their customer service to fix the issue is subpar, well technically it's nonexistent. They have a sign on their counter that says once they give you the food it's yours they won't take it back. Hell they won't even take it back when you point out a failure BEFORE you take possession of the food. Two chicken philly sandwiches and an order of fries will set you back about $25. Our sandwiches are normally full of meat, cheese and veggies. Today there was significantly less filling and bread shown all the way around the meat of one of the sandwiches. When we pointed this out to the restaurant the cashier/manager shrugged her shoulders and closed the box. She did offer us ketchup I guess to make up for the lack of sandwich contents.
