This place is quite overrated as I can see. As someone who takes pizza seriously, I realize my standards will by higher than most peoples’ but this was horrendous. Comparing this to its various competitors in the area, this quaint establishment is disappointing. I’ve broken this down into the factors that make an Italian restaurant amazing and what this place is lacking.
The energy. The atmosphere here felt off. It felt like the shady gas station of restaurants. Maybe I came to this restaurant at the wrong time, but it’s supposed to feel lively, like a family! Where’s the happy music? The delicious smells? The family feel?
The prices. For the standard of food I received, the prices seemed ridiculous. 20 dollars for a small “plate” of below average pasta.
3)The food. I see the attempt that was made. The homemade meatballs were not bad actually! As I ate it I imagined them rolling up the meat and cooking it with love. But, this still doesn’t amass to enough to change my overall feeling for the food. The sauce for the spaghetti was far too chunky and like a paste. The Alfredo quite frankly made me sad. When I order a chicken Alfredo I want it to be creamy, well spiced, and delicious. But I could tell that this pasta was made primarily with cheap oil. It was more like a cheese dip rather than an Alfredo sauce. And finally, the pizza. The thing everyone is talking about on reviews. I will say, this pizza wasn’t horrible. It had a great smell and I loved how the cheese pull apart as I took my slice. My problem is simply that there was just not enough sauce for the amount of cheese, and the crust was too overcooked.
All in all, I really wanted to give this place a good review. I had high hopes, but sadly I was let down. I think with a little bit of improvements with the dinnerware, food quality, and energy, this place will be much...
Read moreI feel I was misled coming here with all the positive reviews since it was one of the most disappointed experiences I have had.
Within 10 minutes of here are multiple pizza and Italian restaurants. Putting one here is bold and aggressive with high expectations. Sadly it does not deliver on either pizza or in pasta dishes.
I came here with my family and even discussed the food together looking for the positive in our experience but it was difficult. Multiple factors go towards a 1 star review. I rarely give one star so here are my reasons.
The ambience was sad. I was greeted by someone who clearly didn’t want to be there and didn’t appreciate the Italian culture. No positive vibes, no excitement no Italian music.
The food was inadequate. Even if the energy is off good food is the ultimate standard. The chicken Alfredo had flavorless chicken with a very strange Alfredo sauce. I didn’t get the salty pop of Parmesan but instead an oily cheese sauce. I could not finish it.
Pizza. Maybe they should just be making pizza but once again my hopes were shattered. I didn’t taste any sauce so the flavor mostly came from the pepperoni and it’s oils. The crust was over cooked and didn’t fold. When you folded it broke.
Even though we ordered in we were served with to go plates. Like those silver containers you take to go with the paper lids. Ironically it was served with actual metal tableware with styrofoam cups.
I am not at home writing with an upset stomach sad that a local owned business did not deliver. Perhaps I can try again in the future and see if...
Read moreI really bought into the Cherokee Connect Hype on “what’s the best Pizza” I wasn’t impressed for a couple of reasons, I will list them below.
First I’m a type 2 Diabetic who requires diabetes meds and insulin. So the rare treat of eating pizza means I monitor my sugar all day, I make sure I’m below 90 on my glucose and I get to enjoy Pizza it’s literally a once a month event. So when the product and service is subpar it’s is a huge let down. And being this establishment is in my neighborhood even more so.
My order was fairly simple a Large The Works, mushrooms on half and extra cheese. I know the young lady heard the extra cheese part, as O was charged for it.
I’m the type of person who really could care less what something costs if I want it, I’m fine to pay for it. Everyone that I trade with, restaurants we frequent, servers whom know my tipping habits, and so on know I’m pretty easy to please. just want the product I want.
The Pizza, aside from not being what O ordered and paid for, it was honestly quite bland. It wasn’t what I expected from an “authentic” Italian eatery. I’ve worked heavily in my career in New York, Miami, Chicago, Hartford, I’ve had amazing Pizza so this was honestly a let down.
5 Yes I will take the blame for not unstacking the order opening the box and checking to see that the pizza professional goofed.
The wings...
