We dined here 3/25/23 for my husband’s birthday. He said he wanted a really good burger customized by him. We heard Big Daddy’s and took him. BAD IDEA! We were a party of 7. The restaurant was not busy at all. I will guess there were about 6 tables being served. We arrived at 6pm and didn’t receive our food until 7:45pm! Everyone around was getting there food and finishing their meals. But not us.
Our waitress was the bartender. She kept coming around asking if we wanted alcoholic drinks. She did not take our food order until 6:41pm. I know this because when we received our food 1 hour and 45 minutes after arriving, the manager had the nerve to say that we did not receive our food until 7:45pm because our order was put in at 6:41pm. During our long wait, the bartender/waitress offered no explanation of the long wait. My son requested a refill of his lemonade and I requested water. The bartender brought out my water 5 minutes later. My son received his lemonade 20 minutes later. Not the manager or bartender/waitress explained why they took so long to serve us. Instead the made excuses such as a couple of us asked for well done burgers. What! does that mean they are not prepared for well done burger requests? They argued with us. Then they had the excuse we placed our order at 6:41pm. What! How is it our fault the bartender waited 41 minutes to take our order? Her excuse for taking our order 41 minutes after arriving was because she had a feeling we were going to request custom made burgers and it would take a while. What! So she purposely did that?
The manager was not willing to discount the food. He wanted us to taste the food. When they finally brought our food out, it was obvious most of our burgers sat for a while before it was brought. For example, 2 of our burgers were falling apart because of how long it sat. The cheese on mine was practically baked on because of how long ago it was placed on the burger. Even the lettuce was wilted. The fries were so old. The manager wanted us to eat the food just like that. He said we were being unreasonable. Anyway, in the end I told them we would pay for our drinks but not the food. The food was old, not edible and the service was horrible. The manager and waitress were not happy about that, argued that we were being dramatic then proceeded to honor my request. This was a horrible experience. We went here for my husband’s birthday because he wanted a really good burger that he can customize himself. The bartender/waitress single handily ruined his experience and the manager on duty made it...
Read moreI'm always up for a good burger and had been wanting to visit Bad Daddy's for a while now. I finally had the chance to visit for a late lunch. The restaurant is clean and definitely has the "sports bar" vibe. Since I stopped by after the lunch rush, I had my choice of tables, which was nice; however it appeared that all of the vacant tables had not yet been wiped down after the previous patrons, and it took me a minute or two to find a table that was relatively clean. Fortunately, rolls of paper towels are provided at each table, so I was able to give it a good wipe down, but it was not a very good first impression. I did not have to wait long for my waitress to stop by and she continued to check on me periodically while I perused the menu. They off a good variety of Signature Burgers, but I opted to "build my own". I chose to go with a single 7oz paddy, medium rare, on the brioche bun, topped with just lettuce and a bit of onion. I like to keep it simple so I can actually taste the burger. I also had ketchup and their Big Daddy sauce on the side, along with a side of their hand cut fries. I did not have to wait long before my food arrived, which was also nice, especially since I was hungry. The 7oz paddy was a nice size and thicker than your normal "smash burger", which made me happy. I prefer thicker burgers to smash burgers. It was also cooked a perfect medium rare, with just the right amount of pink on the inside. However, it was an extremely juicy burger. And by "juicy", I mean greasy! Now, I know that to have a great burger, you need some fat, but I think they could have at least blotted up some of the grease before they brought the burger to the table - I mean, there were rolls of paper towels everywhere! Fortunately, the burger tasted great (once said grease had been blotted up by me). I was also glad that I had chosen the brioche bun, as it was thick enough to handle the burger's juicy-ness. I don't think a regular bun would have held up. The Big Daddy sauce was tasty as well. I mixed it with the ketchup and it was a nice addition to the burger. The fries, sadly, were awful! They looked good when they brought them out, but were quite limp and soggy (again, what's with the grease?); no crunch at all! I probably should have asked for a replacement, but I figured it wasn't worth the wait. There's a chance I might go back at some point, as the burger really was flavorful. But if I do, I'll ask them to blot my burger before bringing it out and I'll...
Read moreThey are absolutely hampered by inept management.
They definitely have a reason for their, currently, 3.6 star rating. We ordered online, direct from them, and were given an estimated pickup time of 22 minutes. Well, the actual order took almost an hour to complete. This was not a complicated order, either, just two salads with grilled meat options.
The excuse they gave is they had people call out, which would be all well and good if the dashers picking up orders for other parties weren't also saying this happens every time with this place. In fact, just read any other critical review on Google, and they all say the same thing: slow. The place was not even close to packed, with maybe 4 or 5 tables on a Monday. Management clearly does not trust or think highly of their regular staff enough to do anything outside their normal responsibilties, because they were all standing and waiting for orders to be filled. If they were so backed up that they couldn't make online orders even close to the estimated time, they should have closed them, which they did not. Again, this points to management having no clue what they are doing.
On top of this, no form of compensation in the form of even a discount for future orders was offered. In fact, the manager was not even interested in speaking directly to me (which, in 34 years of being alive, I have literally never asked for a manager of a restaurant before or even complained about food. I don't think I have even ever reviewed anything on Google before, either). To add insult to injury, the food was unbalanced, with the majority of the salad being the lettuce and very little in the way of other vegetables, and the meat was extremely under-seasoned to the point that it was bland. The only reason this did not get a 1-star is because the food was, at the very least, edible and able to provide sustinence.
Looking at all the other reviews, the one thing they have in common if management's utter lack of anything resembling a semblance of concern. They may respond to this review with some stock response and weak promise of doing better or compensation if contacted, but since it sounds like they will just ghost you on the follow-up, I won't even bother responding.
In short, direct customers: stay away, lest you want bad food brought out slowly! Dashers and Ubereats folk: Do not take orders from here, lest you want bad reviews for their...
