I use eat here occasionally and enjoy the atmosphere and the service. However I generally sit at the bar with some friends or my wife. The food is decent for the price and drinks priced right.
However the place was a different story when I visited with my family and another couple. Total was four adults and three kids.
The service was horrendous. Drinks were brought out within a reasonable time, but afterwards it went downhill.
The children’s food order was placed with drink orders as we frequently do as our children are young. It appears this meant we didn’t want food as we had to wave down the server to order.
After ordering no one came to our table for a half hour. When the server finally stopped by we asked about are food. I waited tables in college and could tell by her face the order was not placed.
I did not say anything as it was a busy night and things happen. I assumed he went to the manager admitted a mistake and are food would be put first in line. I was wrong, half the food came out about a half hour later. Problem was there was no kids food ready and one of the adults was missing her meal.
Again explained to waitress what was wrong and she apologized and stated it would be corrected. However again we waited 15 minutes, with no manager stopping by. As I previously waited tables I knew she did not own up to her mistake and just entered the orders.
At this point we’re there for over an hour and our kids were obviously hungry and misbehaving. Wanting the situation corrected we flagged another sever down and asked for a manager.
The manager was competent apologized and assured us he would get the kids and our friends food out immediately. I unfortunately did not review the order with the manager as the food was completely wrong. Well I think one of the five was correct.
The manager immediately took action and the correct food was brought out in a reasonable time. Manager comped the entire meal which I stated was not necessary and offered a free meal which our friends took.
Hands down worse experience at a restaurant I have ever had.
I did visit again recently as the bad experience scared me off for almost a year. I sat at the bar and had no issues.
I would recommend the bar only as the bartenders are great. Just don’t eat in the restaurant.
Was going to give three stars as one experience shouldn’t ruin the entire place but as the bar is 2/5 the size of the restaurant and the only worthwhile portion I deem it...
Read moreRough experience at Black Diamond, this has been a local spot that I have gone to since I was a kid and it has definitely changed... for the worse, first we come in and we had to wait 10 minutes to be seated because the restaurant didn't have a hostess and the restaurant wasn't even busy and that's a bad sign if your slow on a Friday night! Then we were seated only to be told "the kitchen closes in 10 minutes" which means we had to RUSH to make a selection which made it worse. Then finally I asked for a rammiken of honey mustard with my French fries and the waitress bought me one large one which I didn't mind but the insulting part was she charged me for not one but TWO rammikens of honey mustard. I can go to longhorn and get a bowl of ranch for $3.00! Unacceptable! Then to make matters worse the server was absolutely unattentive and didn't not check on us once and only came by to hand us the check. I am not an unreasonable person but when you have only 2 tables in a restaurant on a Friday night I expect better service than that! And I can't believe I just paid $40 for a chicken philly sandwich that had bone dry chicken and if I remembered last a Philly comes with bell peppers too and not just onions and mushrooms! And then on top of that my girlfriend asked for pickles for her slider Burgers and she bought 4 little disappointing pickles 😑, bad service, below average food, and a horrible atmosphere STAY AWAY FROM THE BLACK...
Read moreAverage Atmosphere and a below average service but the pricing will "kill" you. This place has never recovered from Covid. The prices were raised, portions made smaller and they have deployed a new pricing tactic that is not customer friendly. This Sunday, I ordered two bratwurst sandwiches with the "homemade" chips. The order was dropped and the server left the table. On my brats, I enjoy chopped onions and relish - like most folks. The relish and onions (barely chopped - more like chunks) were then also dropped off when I asked for these condiments. Much to my surprise - because not one word was said to me or my wife, I received a "service" fee for the tiniest bowl of relish and another "service" fee for the tiniest bowl of chunked onions. It was a 10% premium for my "special" $15 bratwurst platter. Management didn't care that I felt an unannounced "service" fee was assessed for my sandwich and should be removed. My wife and I have removed Black Diamond from our places to eat. We were steady customers 6-8 times per year since we moved to the area...
