[Time & Date of visit]: Weekday lunches
[Location/Ambiance]: The plaza is pretty quiet, so ample amount of parking. Inside, there has been more to go orders so seating has plenty of options. The mirrors on the walls, placed from end to end throws me off as it makes the restaurant seem longer/larger than what it is. Most booths fit 2 adults. 4 would be a little cramped. At the very end is a round booth that could fit a group with ease.
[Service]: Food is served fast casual. Order at the counter and provide your name, then grab your drink, and take a seat. One of the guys will run the food to your decided table of choice. Pay when you're done.
[Food Highlights]:
My bestest and I have dined in twice, and we usually split our orders to share with each other.
Capozzi's Combo : Toasted w/ a side of creamy garlic sauce. This is shiznit with the garlic sauce for dipping. I've had Italian from just about every sandwich / sub shop chain / franchise in Atlanta. This is hands down, the best version I've had so far. Must order, toasted with garlic sauce.
Meatball Parmigiana : The meatballs were a littled dried for my liking, but the marinara sauce was pretty good. I was hoping that this would be just as great as the Capozzi's Combo, but it's just ok.
Chicken Ranch : The menu description isn't kidding, this thing is drenched in ranch dressing under a bed of melted mozzarella. This was pretty good, though more ranch dressing to my liking. The chicken strips are pretty good. Doesn't hold well when packed as left overs. Not a option if you're trying to watch what your weight. This is a no holds barred kind of sandwich.
[Total Bill w/ Tip & Tax]: Under $20
{Summary}: I'm not sure how busy they get for dinner, but this is a must visit for a lunch spot. Down to earth guys who serve good, generous amount of food. Best Italian sandwich in the area, if...
Read moreI took my husband here for his B-Day dinner last night. This was our first time at this location, we usually go to the Capozzi's in East Cobb Crossing Shopping Center.
The food was great! The customer service at this location was less than desirable. We walked in with no welcome or even being acknowledged. I went up to the register to grab a menu and stood there waiting. The young women was not making eye contact with us until I said "Excuse me, do we order here?" What she said back was, "You can just sit down." So I thought, ok they are going to come by the table and take our order because we are dining in. We patiently waited for about 10 mins and nothing, so I looked at my husband and said "I guess we are supposed to order at the register." As we were starting to order, the young women would turn her head and talk with one of the men in the kitchen several times. My husband and I just looked at each like what's goin on here. Each time she said sorry, really not sure what it was regarding but it was really should not taken that long to order our food.
We sat down and observed people coming in and out for take out and the same young women didn't welcome anyone and did not smile at all. It looked like the customers were bothering them from not be able to be on their phones. The last thing I'd like to point out, we had to listen to one of the young women say with a loud voice "hey, can I get my paycheck?" to one of the guys in the kitchen at least 3 times and listen to her complain about not getting her paycheck. It was just too much to hear. I told my husband "I can see why they have a lot of take out orders and we aren't coming back to this location." I am a little bummed that this was the experience we had for my husband's B-Day dinner.
Luckily, my husband did say that the calzone was really good, so we...
Read moreOrdered two pizzas on DoorDash on Friday night, a Sicilian and a Mary Ann, and also got an antipasto salad, garlic knots and tiramisu.
The Sicilian was ok, but the crust was pre-baked, badly overcooked, a GALLON OF SAUCE with unbaked center had raw cheese and cold sauce. It was really disappointing. It could have been a good pizza if they hadn’t pre-baked the crust, and added less sauce. Clearly Capozzi’s has heard about what a Sicilian pizza is, but has never actually had a real one. It’s sorta like some aliens seeing bunch of human movies, and then they try to make a movie themselves for their human pets. While what the humans see vaguely resembles a movie, it makes no sense and is just a random series of loosely related scenes.
The Mary Ann was completely disgusting to be perfectly honest. It had at least a whole pint of ricotta cheese, and about a pound of frozen spinach on it in huge blobs. I am not kidding, these pizzas were about ten pounds each, they were HEAVY (in an alarming way for a pizza). The gross amount of ricotta and spinach only allowed me to eat one slice before deciding I would probably throw the rest away. It was a horrible pizza. Edible, but it looked like a twelve year old works in the kitchen at Capozzi’s.
Last I’ll comment on the garlic knots. I tried one after experiencing the pizza to see what I was in for. The dough was alright, same as pizza (tbh tasteless and no chew). The garlic butter made me want to spit it all out, though. It tasted of the worst acrid burned garlic butter flavor that you can imagine. It was full of fresh minced garlic, sure, but it tasted like a burned garlic holocaust in my mouth. It was a war crime. Shame on you Capozzi’s.
I will never eat here again. You guys need to go back to...
