Catrina's Mexican Grill — Restaurant in Georgia

Nothing to rave about here. We tried venturing out to find a new Mexican place and must have been enticed by all of the lights and inviting nature of the patio beside the front door.

The fact that nobody was actually sitting on the patio should have been our first clue. When we walked in, there was nobody there to greet us. There were only 3 tables seated, and none of the booths in the entire restaurant had been bussed. Seriously? You're not busy, and walking back to the kitchen empty-handed... grab a plate. It kind of felt like we walked into someone's dirty apartment.

After about 5 minutes, we made our way to the kitchen to see if we could flag someone down to seat us. After seating us, he promptly provided menus and took our drink order. If you want water, you better ask for it.

Their menu is quite extensive and provides a variety of options. The food came out pretty quickly, and the presentation wasn't bad, but the meal itself just seemed sub-par. We didn't even finish our margaritas, which were honestly the smallest I've seen in any Mexican restaurant.

Now, when we drive past this restaurant with all of their shiny lights, we'll never again wonder if they're any good. I'd rather...

I stopped ordering from here because the quality has decreased. I get the Tres Amigos appetizer regularly & noticed the last 2 orders weeks in between the queso part was thick, clumpy, & unappetizing. I stopped ordering from here. As of today, I called in to see if they still have that recipe. Manager/owner said they hadn't changed anything but when you order something regularly, you know. I proceed to order & I told myself if it's not up to par, I'll find a new fav Mexican spot. Sadly, it wasn't. They prepared my dish with shredded cheese that I could have used myself from Kroger. Steak, chicken, & shrimp had absolutely no flavor, and there were 2 shrimp in my entire meal, what is normally packed with each meat. I'm disappointed enough to write this review, and never...

Saturday, October 28, 2023. It was our first time. Another business was having an event, and all (and I do mean all) the parking spaces around the entire strip mall were taken...I did finally find one in the back where the auto repair shop is located. We were the first ones in the restaurant for lunch. Seated promptly and service was with a smile. The food was excellent. The chips were fresh and crunchy, and the entrees were served hot and seasoned well. We really did enjoy this food.
