Updated July 2019 with photo: I have been waiting expectantly for a return visit since moving to the island. To say we were disappointed is an understatement. My teriyaki steak and scallops had bits of thin, tough and overcooked meat. Nothing tender about it. Nor appetizing. I was given 4 scallops of varing sizes, but all obviously cooked the same amount of time. So while one was perfect, one was rubber and another not quite all the way. Unfortunately it wasn't just a dish tonight. My husbands scallops were also cooked unevenly. Some were perfect, others were rubber. My daughters shrimp was overcooked. The bread was super doughy, like it needed another ten-fifteen minutes in the oven. The salad was good... so were my potatoes. We were so disappointed that we skipped the bread pudding and called it a night. I get a dish going wrong once in a while. It happens. But there was so much wrong tonight that I have to wonder, what happened? Even our waitress was sub-par, we had to wait, and wait, and wait on refills. Aigust 2018: My new favorite restaurant on the island. The house dressing is the best and the warm bread delish! My husband enjoyed his snapper, i loved my teriyaki filet and scallops and the kids each enjoed a bowl of shrimp alfredo. We ended with bread pudding, the perfect end! Great service, great food, great atmosphere. Can't go wrong. NOTE to families with young children. They open at 5pm and get very busy very quickly. Arrive at about 445 to be one of the first seated with no wait.

Crabdaddy’s is one of our favorite spots on the island for a casual dinner and a couple beers after work. A few highlights- -Their sweet and sour vinaigrette is the bomb. We paid $22 for a 16 oz cup of it to take home because my husband loves it so much. -The crab legs are the best we’ve found on the island. Compared to Crab Trap next door, you get more crab legs, salad and it’s about $15 less. They’re always cooked perfectly. -The bread is insanely good with the cinnamon butter. A must try! It’s worth the carbs. -Parking isn’t great on busy nights, but you can usually find something if you’re patient… or willing to risk parking in a spot that may not be an actual spot. -We’ve never had anything we didn’t love here. Their fresh catch specials are fantastic! -The grit fritters are something I never expected to like but they’re really good! The only disappointment we’ve had has been the cocktails aren’t great, but that works for us, because we’ll opt for something else on nights we come here. If you’re ordering a two ingredient drink (Rum & Coke, Bourbon & Ginger, Vodka & Soda, etc), you’ll probably be fine but don’t expect complex cocktails. All in all, this is a very solid spot and we’ll continue to return regularly.

The crab soup was ok, can't say much else about it but that... We weren't expecting the salad to be served the way it was, but it was nice, and big enough for 3 ppl. The crab cakes were delicious but REALLY WET. I enjoyed rhe salad much more than those sadly. The fish with the crawfish sauce was really good, my husband really enjoyed that. But the side vegetables were steamed, there was no seasoning or butter what so ever on them, and they didn't even look appetizing. They never got touched. We sat in a room with bare white walls that looked like it was to be more used for gatherings. The remaining part of the restaurant look from what we could see to be more idea of a restaurant setting. The parking lot is very small and not slot of spots available.

So this said we have spent holiday's wedding anniversary's birthdays on 10/19/24 we went here for my birthday tonight the last trip over the summer of 2024 something seemed off. Tonight $150.00 diner for my wife and myself was the worst ever I had snapper grilled big black dark meat not like any snapper I have ever eaten. The Prime rib my wife ordered she could not cut this with the knife it was not prime beef it was not choice it was undeniably terrible. The bread was stale the grouper fingers were nuggets battered little smaller than quarter 3 on a plate fried crap. The waitress never returned for her tip some one else came over and took the check I asked if the waitress was going to get the tip I was told she was outside someplace. 18 years read the review I wrote once before today a hot dog would have been better tasting. Sorry to say fool me twice? we will never be back there was nothing on our plates that was worth $150.00 When you lose a customer a family who has dined there like we have you should close the door and re think your business plan.

Crab daddy's St Simons Island Ga We have been dinning there for the past 17 years celebrating family birthdays , holidays and our wedding anniversary's. The service is awesome the food is never disappointing the adult beverages top shelf the sweet tea is also very good. Never leave with out their bread pudding we always take one to go while enjoying some after dinner. The service and wait staff are just great most evenings their is a long wait while there is call ahead seating expect to have drink at the bar if so desired. Last night the special was red snapper in tomato cream sauce outstanding the waitress recommended this boy was that the right choice. There is nothing on their menu you should not explore while visiting this first class restaurant with a down home...

Finally a date night away from the kids! Reservations easy to make online, check! Friday night walked in and got a table, check! Wait staff came and took our drink order, check! Drinks came right away check check!!! Ok, mix drinks not too good but thats ok, fixed that with a glass of wine. Service still very nice. The food... well that is where the stumbling began...ordered 3 appetizers (again a rare date night!) They came out timely, seared Tuna very yummy, the speical Calimari was generic and not worth the price, the shrimp and grits appetizer was so bland, dry and flavorless we had to use the salt and pepper! I should share that living in the south most of my life and it being a fav dish I know good shrimp and grits...this was not it by a long stretch.... The salad and bread. Wow how do you mess that up? The bread loaf served in a basket with cloth napkin looks cozy and yummy but then you reach for it to find it was cold, old and dry... just aweful. The salad was served in a large bowl to serve yourself which is fine but not enough veggies to share.

The entrees, well the flops kept coming...ordered the salmon speical with a side of red beans and rice. The side was tasty and plentiful. The salmon was a decent cut but not worth the price and definitely the sauce was lacking flavor and pretty much no artichokes that were suppose to the the feature with the salmon. The next entree was the signature steak and scallop teriyaki. The meat was tender and the sauce was good, but again the portions were tiny for the price. 3 oz of meat and 3 scallops! The side was garlic mash potatoes, decent flavor for the 3 tablespoons given on the plate.

The bread pudding is really the only reason you should go to Crab daddy's. Hands down awesome. I mean really awesome.

Everything else, just not worth...

I got married on Saturday 11/12 in downtown Brunswick. My groom and I decided to do an elopement wedding (our hometown is around 2 hours away from Brunswick) and only have immediate family attend our ceremony. I called around 2 months ahead of time and asked to make reservations here for around 20 people after the wedding. The food was good and our waitress was great. We even took a small wedding cake with us and our waitress was glad to help out anyway she could. HOWEVER; after we left, I got a phone call from the general manager (Josh) saying that two people in my party hadn’t paid for their meal. (The meal he was referring to was for MY 67 year old MOTHER and MY sister). After getting everything sorted out, My mother and my sister did in fact pay before leaving and paid with the cashier and not with the waitress. After returning the phone call to the GM and explaining that it was paid for he then said “wELl, iT SHoUlD hAVe BEeN PaID wITh ThE WaITreSS.” No Mr. General Manager Josh, you should have sorted this out with your crew instead of calling and ACCUSING people of dining and dashing. Bottom line, the meals were paid for. There are ways of calling customers and saying something instead of jumping straight into conclusions and that’s exactly what happened. My wedding party, my groom, and I spent around $1000+ to eat here and I’m disgusted with the unprofessionalism. GREAT EXPERIENCE ON MY WEDDING DAY! 😡🙄

I told several people that are local about this incident on my honeymoon and NOBODY has said anything nice about this place neither.

We won’t be returning and will...
