It was a bit chilly on our visit to Saint Simons Island and after we biked for a little while, we decided to get something warm to drink and maybe a pastry. A quick Google search found this little establishment right off of Arnold Street in the village area. We decided to give it a go. Initially, it looked quite Charming like it was described...as a cottage. When we walked in there was a deli case to our left and a bunch of random gifts in a little gift shop to our right. Like you would typically find in little coffee shops were people who made local soaps or knick knacks displaying their fare for the tourists. I decided to order just a regular black coffee but my wife decided on something a little fancier. We each ordered our coffee drinks from a rather apathetic barista who didnt hide the fact that she would rather be anywhere but there. We also ordered a cookie to split between us. While our coffees were very OK, we liked the outdoor seating on the astro-turf under the old growth trees. We decided one visit was enough for us and moved-on. While we don't regret our visit here, we cant say we recommend it in good consciousness. You'll get better...
Read moreCompletely TERRIBLE experience!! my friends and i (4 teenage girls) went to get food at this place for 2 days in a row because this place was on the way to the beach. The first day was fine, we had to ask for a few items more than once which is probably because the teenage girl on cashier was just yelling our order to the back and the girl in the back clearly had some memory loss. The second day we only had about 4 hours at the beach and going here took an uneccessary hour out of our time. we ordered and we were told we couldn’t get plain bagels while the plain bagels were sitting smack dab behind the cashier. we payed over $50 for bagels and coffee both days for rudeness. we were yelled at multiple times asking what we were waiting for and even had a whole ordeal saying we didn’t pay for things which were clearly on the receipt. one friend was told she couldn’t have her egg and cheese on a croissant after it came out on a biscuit even though she got it the day before. it took multiple trips for the worker to get every thing out to us and it got very frustrating. the worst part of it all was that the bagel and coffee was...
Read moreStaff was ignorant and rude. My friends and I decided to stop by this coffee shop on our way to the beach two days in a row, as it’s location was right by our path. The first day was okay, the servers were not too friendly, however, we got our food after having to ask twice for certain items and went on with our day. The second day was awful. As a group of young adults, we were completely overlooked and treated way worse than the older adults and families who came in after us. We were asked to repay for items that “weren’t rang up” without proof of a receipt, and when receipt was requested we saw we indeed payed for those items. We were rudely shouted at with poor costumer service and given rude looks by staff, as well as being told certain items weren’t in stock as we witnessed adults after us receive items we requested. All in all, the experience was unenjoyable, which is a shame considering the food...
