Dilworth's BBQ — Restaurant in Georgia

This place doesn’t even deserve 1 star. Worst restaurant experience ever! I called in my order and was told it would be 10 minutes. I arrived 10 minutes later. I overheard the guy at the register tell the person in front of me that calling in your order means nothing and you have to wait with everybody else. I should have just walked out then. I waited patiently for my order and when it got to be 45 minutes I walked up to the register. The guy had gone to the back for an extended period. When he came out he had a lot of orders but mine was not one of them. I advised him that at that point I had been waiting an hour and needed to leave. I asked if he could just give me a refund. He responds back and said well that’s your fault for waiting an hour and not saying anything. Okay whatever I let that slide. I was sitting in front of him the whole time. He then gets smart again and says how much was your order. I looked at my receipt and gave him the amount. This dude then says I’m going to give you a little extra so you can get an ice cream and a water and chill out. I never at anytime was disrespectful to him until that point. Who raised this dude? It’s really sad that this business allows him to be their face and voice. I love to support black owned businesses but I still have expectations of the level of service I should receive when I’m spending my hard earned money. I would never ever return to this place! If I could give no stars I would . When this restaurant first opened my family and I loved it .Over a period of time the food fell off a little bit so we gave them a break ... Recently we decided to give them another try .. Bad mistake. We ordered (2) of the bbq chicken sandwiches and (3) of the pulled pork sandwiches. That’s five sandwiches for $30 no sides no drink just sandwiches.. When we got the food home the buns for the sandwiches were completely burnt . Burnt to the point were it was not edible . I called to the restaurant to let them know ... The man who sits int the front with the glasses replied “he knew they sandwiches were like that because their toaster is broken ... Why toast the bread if you knew this would be the outcome ... Anyways he goes on to say he would replace them at a later date ... A few days later I called to remind him and let him know today I would like to my replacement sandwiches... At first he seemed annoyed that I even called back to ask then told me I couldn’t come to this afternoon... I said sir it is afternoon (it was 12:09 pm at the time) ..He said well come at 1... I asked him why 1 he said we have to get the meat ready 😒... He told me he would call me when the sandwiches were ready ... I guess that was a lot of meat because he never called . Don’t waste your time or money on this NASTY & UNPROFESSIONAL...

Please be advised these stars do not apply to the side dishes. I can honestly say I would have given five stars if the sides and customer service were a little better. But you can't win them all.

The meat though...SIX stars! Dilworth, or whomever is cooking knows their way around a smoker/grill.

I ordered the first time on a whim from Door Dash. I had the combo plate. The chicken and the ribs came with no sauce which was disappointing...until I took the first bite. The seasoning, the flavor, the tenderness--EVERYTHING....but that mac and cheese tasted like water. I'd also ordered greens but the restaurant substituted for cabbage...which again...lacked seasoning and was also over cooked. I went back again on the 4th of July. I called ahead my order and they told me 30-40 minutes. It ended up being 65+ minutes which was uncomfortable to me because it was crowded and I had my son with me. We were wearing masks but preferred to wait outside, so I made a couple of trips in and out before I actually received my order. Again, the meats DID NOT disappoint. I had the baked beans (which reminded me of the pork and beans I was fed as a child??) and potato salad (it was a little warm so I was afraid to eat it.)

Bottom line...I will be back. I would have been back today if they were open. Make sure you call ahead because the Google hours...
