Island Spice Grill and Wings — Restaurant in Georgia

Visited last 11/01/18. My husband and I have visit here at least once a week for the past 2 months or so. We always get the large curry chicken plate with rice n peas, mac n cheese with and additional side of yams. Tonight my husband arrived at or around 8pm to order our usual. We were told all that was left was oxtails. Everything else was sold out. This is an issue for me because if we’re in your establishment to order something off the menu at least 1.5 to 2 hours before you close we shouldn’t beforced to settle for what you only have left. The second thing is the oxtails were horrible and did not taste great (maybe that’s why they didn’t sell out). Last but not least, usually when we order a large plate it is heavy and overloaded with food. It is enough for us to share and have leftovers. The large plate we ordered tonight was really a small. The same amount of food put into the small containers was put into the large container. So we walked away feeling disappointed that we were not able to get curry chicken, the oxtails were not tasty and we received less food than usual. This restaurant hasn’t kept its consistency with the food, quality of taste and there’s a lack there of (curry chicken). We thought we found a good Jamaican restaurant but lately we really haven’t enjoyed the food and tonight was the last straw. We will not...

Wow! The lady cashier should absolutely not be in the customer service industry! I made my order and then my sister tried to order 2 plates. She told my sister she needed to hurry up with her order because the machine will start to beeping!!! wow.... then she had a nasty attitude explaining the rice and side substitution/ stipulations. (You have to pay extra to not get rice) She proceeded to make us feel as though we were inconveniencing her when all we wanted was clarification on the strange menu rules. My sister actually ended up canceling her order before paying because the cashier was so rude. The cashier made sure to mentioned twice how she should have been off work...Well that’s not my fault as a customer, and can you get off your phone while I’m asking you questions about the menu? She really ruined the whole experience! On a lighter note the men in the kitchen were nice. (They knew she was the cause of my sister canceling her order). On to the food: the Jerk chicken was really good. The cabbage needed more seasoning, it was a little greasy. The Yams and macaroni were good. Overall, Unless they get rid of the rude cashier my family will not patronize this establishment. Caribbean food should make you smile, not leave you feeling...

For the most part, this place is cool.. but the stubby darkskin young lady that was in there tonight literally irritates me EVERY single time she’s there. She just has a negative energy and you can tell she doesn’t want to be there.. and not only that, her co-worker came out speaking patois and I could’ve sworn I interpreted her saying “they’re out of brown stew chicken.” But since the lady taking my order didn’t say anything, I left it alone .. Instead of confirming with me they were out of brown stew chicken, the girl brought my food out and said “they didn’t have any brown stew chicken so they gave you jerk chicken.” Then she walked in the back before I could even say anything.

It pissed me off so bad bc if she would’ve confirmed that her co-worker actually said that, I would’ve saved my money and went somewhere else. But instead, she was worried about cleaning up and shutting down.. despite the fact I showed up at 9:20 pm and they don’t close until 10:00 pm. People like her makes a decent business go downhill.
