08/27/2022, 7:50pm, I had terrible service. I drove 7 miles to this location because the food is usually great. I began calling my order in expecting my food to be ready within 15-20 min. The staff answered the phone politely and immediately put me on hold. As I drove to the location, after being on hold for 5 minute, someone came back on the line and said,"Please hold"!( The Manager!). After 8 minutes holding I continued on my route to "Jason's Deli" in Lawrenceville GA on Duluth Hwy. Someone came on the line again and said, "Hold". Finally making it to "Jason's Deli", I got out of my car and proceeded to the door. Mind you, still on hold for 13 minute, As I walked to the door. My spouse, who was behind me responded to someone who finally came on the phone,"That's okay, I'm here now." I went to the counter and ask to see a manager. When the young man came to the counter, I began to explain how the hold times was ridiculous and something should be done about it. The "Real Manager" was standing behind the person who came to the counter. That person introduce himself as the manager saying, "Can I help you. The young man immediately began to give push back with attitude and distain. He said, "Look, I been here since 7am and only 2 prep staff, pointing at two young men making sandwiches, a cashier and another person (The Manger), we are the only ones working and they dont have time to answer the phone and work the front of the restaurant! I don't know what you want me to do because I am not going to appologize"! At which point, I said, "I never asked for an apology. I was making an observation and suggestion that something should be done about the hold time and how "Jason's Deli" is implementing process to ensure their staff is not over work (hire more people at a living wage) while ensuring "Jason's Deli" bottom line has minimal impact (answering the phone at a location that has an option to "call in" an order. Addressing the hold time). đ€ After he continued to express how, he didn't appreciate me coming in complaining about the hold time, The actual manager stepped orward with a tone misogynistic tone and repeated being understaffed and over worked and how he too had be there since 7am. Getting more irritated as he spoke. He said,"I am sick and tired of 'You People' coming in here complaining. Do you work! Shocked at his tone đł! I responded,"What do you mean You People"? I have several jobs which involves answering the phone with Intergity as well as demonstrate Excellents not limited to compassion, service values. The manager said," like I said,"You People! If you want someone to answer the phone, why don't you come back here and answer them!" At this point, the two guys making sandwiches stop making sandwiches and came to the front area standing behind "The Manager", the cashier and the young man who was speaking to me originally. I felt very intimidate and a little afraid because 5 men were in front of me with intimigating body language. The only thing I could say was, "I want the number to the district manager or your corporate office." The manager immediately walked away. Which was fine by me because I took his racist undertone to mean I would get nowhere with him. He left me standing there. The person I was speaking with originally, said,"Aint no number to a distict manager. Get the number online and call customer service!" At which time I got silent. I notice business cards on the counter for other managers and began to gather them. The young man said,"You dont need those just this one, I ignored him because I didn't trust him. By this time, I understood the real issue. "Jason's Deli"! I blame "Jason's Deli for allowing this type of staff to manage a thriving eatery. I blame "Jason's Deli for not hiring "enough" qualified staff and it's worker's feeling unappreciated by being over worked, underpaid and short staffed! I blame "Jason's Deli" for hiring an undercover racist!! Or, maybe the "Manager" is not undercover? I blame "Jason's Deli" for allow this Manager to promote its brand!! I am a African...
Read moreI usually do not even do reviews. I do not know if this was an off night or what, but I ordered 2 online pickup orders at 640 and 6:45 to be ready at 6:53 and 7:04. No modifications to orders, regular sandwiches on the menu. Turkey wrap and Deli Club. I also have worked in the industry and know ready times are not set in stone and I was ok with waiting a little longer. I walked in 6:10 and was prepared to wait a few minutes if needed. There was 1 person in line waiting to dine in, 2 people waiting in lobby for to go orders and I had already seen 3 people in the drive thru. There appeared to be one employee handling the order taking, 2 preparing the food and a manager on duty helping everything. The 2 people waiting in the lobby received their orders and left and had to come back in to have something corrected with their order. A couple of drive thru customers came in to get something that was left off their order or correct something in their order. As I sat and waited 2 additional people came in to pick up online orders. I said something at 7:25 when no one had acknowledged I was sitting there waiting and the other to go orders had already received their food, left and returned. The manager said ok, Let me check. 10 minutes later comes and asks what was your order? I'm pretty sure I rolled my eyes all the way back to January at this point as it is 7:35, almost an hour after I placed the online order and she gave me polite attitude and said look I'm just trying to get you your food. I told her my order. I finally received my order at 7:50pm. No apology for the hour wait for 2 sandwiches! As I was sitting there waiting a very large group came in to dine in. If I had to guess it was at least 20 people, maybe more, there were still people coming in as I left. Maybe the store was having an off night, not sure what the circumstances were, but I know there were at least 5 displeased customers including myself and sometimes, a little communication and apology for the wait can...
Read moreI took my family here on Sunday and I was instantly disappointed. There were 6 employee's working and they were the most complacent & non-caring group I've seen and I've been to numerous Jason's Deli's.
The tables were dirty. We had to clean our own table off to eat there. There was broken glass just outside of the door from someone who had broken a whole beer bottle and left for cars to run over and customers to walk around. Upon entering the establishment, I told one of the young guy's that was about to take my order about the glass and ask him if he might could get someone to go with a broom & dust pan and get it up before someone's tire was ruined or someone didn't step in it. He said "Oh sure" and then he went back into his normal work mode. I was certain that he wasn't going to do anything about the glass, so, I said to him (in a stern voice) sir, if you don't have anyone to get the glass up, get me the broom and dust pan and I will go get it up. He then begrudgingly went and got the broom & dust pan and got the glass up.
I'm telling you, this place is a mess. They were out of items and the potato soup that my Mom got and the broccoli & cheddar soup my wife got was uneatable.
There was a guy down by the salad's cutting up something. After getting my water, I ask him if they had lemon's. He said yes, I'll go get you some. 5 minutes later he hadn't returned but instead he was now up front about to take someone's order and never made a move to get my lemons. Wow dude, really?? What did I do? I marched right up front and after he took the couple's order he saw me standing there. He said "Oh yeah, you wanted lemon's", I'll go get you some - and he did.
I just wonder if the owner of this Jason's Deli ever goes in to check on the place. I can't imagine he does and maybe he doesn't even really care, who knows!? I just know that I'll never go back in there. It was really...
