I was craving oysters. My regular bar for oysters closed down so I was looking for a new place off 85 north of 285. I had seen Mariscos in passing so I decided to go there for my oyster need. It was 8:30p on a Tues night and not very busy. I understand they are very busy at times with a good mix of Spanish and American clients. I love to try new things, within parameters particular to me. Antonio was my bartender. Very nice guy who went out if his way to make my experience as nice as possible. I was lucky it being a slower time. So, I ordered my oysters and assumed they would have the typical red cocktail sauce with fresh horseradish. Only limes came with my oysters, so I talked to Antonio. He went in back and mixed up a great little sauce that mildly spicy they way I like it. It was different from what I'm used to with oysters, but it worked to flavor the oysters well and I enjoyed it. I also ordered a skinny margarita. It was very good. I ordered their fried calamari and it was very good as well. So, I had a good experience, and a very filling tasty dinner and drink. I'd recommend having a meal there, just know they do add a 15% tip/fee. I added a little more to round out a 22-23% overall tip. I heard the mariachi band is very good too....
Read moreI have been here a few times now, and my experience has varied. This last time was probably the worst.. The portions are huge, but the price matches it. I ordered one of the shrimp dishes, and the sauce is always all over the plate, making the fries soggy and the salad limp and covered in whatever sauce you chose (I have tried two different ones). Imagine a buttery salad! The fries on top not in the sauce and bread are otherwise good. The shrimp are small and taste a little muddy (maybe due to not being deveined), a few still had shells on them. I took most of them home as leftovers, but after having stomach issues, I tossed it all.
Service, unfortunately, seemed overwhelmed. She never brought refills after asking. We were having lunch on a weekday and arrived around 1.45pm. We ended up not getting to leave until 3.50pm due to waiting for the checks for nearly 40 mins.
The live music is nice, the gentlemen charge $25 per song. One of them did come to our table and make kind of an inappropriate...
Read moreWe’ve been coming to La Riviera Nayarit for Sunday lunch for a long time and always had amazing experiences—great food, good vibes, and solid service. Unfortunately, today was a huge disappointment.
We didn’t even have a real server. Just different people dropping off food and drinks with no communication or care. We had to get up ourselves to ask for basic things like water, limes, and even silverware.
Eventually, a waitress named Maria V came by—not to check on us, but to drop off the check. To our surprise, a 20% tip was already included. When we asked about the lack of service, she casually told us she was eating lunch and asked the bussers and food runners to “help her out” with our table.
It’s honestly so sad to see such a good restaurant get ruined by poor service. We really hope management takes this seriously, because the food...
