This place is terrible customer service I ordered my food paid for my food then they said I did not pay for my food and refused to give me my food so I raise my voice and then went and got a manager and he also refused to give me my food my food was like a little over $6 the manager also refused to give me my food they had me so upset that I was crying a customer inline stepped out and came out put $20 on the counter and told them to take that for my food and when I did get my food it was not good the fries were cold the hamburger was not all that great and they kind of just slammed in my orange drink in front of me so needless to say it was not a good visit at all and then when they accuse you of not paying for your food on a Sunday at that I had no reason to lie I only went in with $20 and had changed $20 thank God for the gentleman that came out he was a Christian he gave me a big hug said he is my brother in Christ now and I am his sister helps me stop crying he made my day however the varsity will not see my business very long time I would like to report them for how they treat their customers the customers find me or shocked as well as the way I was getting treated they saying that I had paid and the guy that I made said that no she didn't I had a receipt they wouldn't take my receipt because somebody else came up like I said and paid for my food again the varsity is turning into a rude restaurant when it's supposed to be a very nice place to go restaurant it's always supposed to have been that way the last time I went I had a very good experience the last week I went was the worst time it might be the last time and then again I might wait a year and go back and that's all I have to...
Read moreIn two visits to this area, we've stopped in this VARSITY location both times - a quieter, less busy, less chaotic alternative to downtown (which we also pass when in the area). Maybe too quiet: Both times we have been, it was midweek and mid-afternoon, but for the size of this location (it's HUGE) it was 'dead'. Hopefully it's just when we have been and not like this all the time. (VARSITY has been closing these outlying locations, one at a time, for a few years now.) While downtown is THE experience; this location is more for [current or former] locals wanting the comfort & nostalgia of eating VARSITY without the fuss. It is very clean - from the parking lot, to the outdoor area, to the indoor dining, even the restrooms. VERY clean. We parked where we wanted, went straight to the register to place our order, and sat where we wanted. Food is fast and cooked to order and just as good (if not better) as Downtown. I'd actually recommend this location to anyone I knew who was going to be in the area that was already familiar with The VARSITY [Downtown], wanted the food but not wanting the 'experience' of the...
Read moreSo I didn't give it 4 stars because the food is the best. The chili hot dog nor the chili is the best you've ever had. The burgers are tiny and the fries can sometimes be soggy but this place is home and it has a home feeling. The place is always extremely clean even though it's always extremely busy. The customer service at this location is more of a rush feeling whereas downtown they still greet you with a smile although they're busier. I always go for the chili dogs and i add chili, which is $0.51 extra and I always get the onion rings. To me the onion rings are the best. They're extra greasy onion rings and still remains one of my favorite onion rings. I grew up on this food so to me the food is the best, it's a at home feeling. The varsity always makes you feel welcomed. Like you're at Grandma's house. Nothing fancy, just simple food. And let's just say that frosty Orange, it's a must-try. The varsity is not going to be for everyone, especially if you're from out of town but if you grew up on this food, it's a...
