Wow where to start. I went here with my son recently, and we pulled up to the drive thru to order (we were sort of in a hurry). After 3 cars came and went in the other lane, we got a little louder on the drive thru speaker and got zero response. After more than 5 minutes, we just pulled around. We didnt get back in line because now there was a long line and we had already sat in it once.
We went inside, and it is kiosk order only. This seems to be super-secret-code for "we dont need to pay you any attention or answer your questions or even look at you". Seriously, the people walking around back there have mastered the art of pretending you do not exist even if you are standing at the counter saying "Excuse me" as they walk by.
So, we order (via kiosk) and sit down. I get up and wander over to their counter to a) ask them if the outer lane mic was broken, and b) ask for our cups so we could get drinks while we waited. Thats when I got the "invisible" treatment. So, after standing there feeling like an idiot for like 4-5 mins, I sat back down.
Our order? Two big mac meals. Simple, right? Nah. I counted 14 cars (yes, fourteen) go by with meals from the drivethru while we waited for our pretty straight forward order. Even worse, a bunch of school kids and a family (separate groups) came in 5-10 minutes behind us and ordered at the kiosk and GOT THEIR FOOD while we were still waiting for ours. Again, I went up to the counter and got the silent treatment.
About (sigh.. I truly wish I were exaggerating) 20-25ish minutes after we walked into the McDonalds they finally called my number. When I got up, the worker walked away before I got over there. I get there and its just a bag with the food. No cups. Really? So I start asking for the cups while my son takes the food back to the table to start eating. Remember that in the beginning I said we were in a rush? I was apparently loud enough this time and someone came over. I asked for our cups, and she said "you already got them when you ordered". I pointed at my son and said do you see cups? We've been sitting here more than 25 mins and couldnt get someones attention for cups. She pulled out two cups and TOSSED THEM on the counter. She did not give them to me, did not place them down, she TOSSED THEM at me and i had to be quick before they fell off the other side. As she walked away, I heard her tell one of her co-workers "Guys been here 5 minutes and is bitching about his cups".
And no, it doesnt stop there. The big macs and the fries were COLD! I mean, cold like theyve been sitting behind the counter for 20 mins cold. Like they forgot to give us our order and it sat there.
At this point, I went back to the counter and dropped the bag and left. No, i didnt get a refund because a) we were now VERY late to get where we were going and b) they were ignoring me once again. So, paid north of $20 for 2 drinks and in total a THIRTY MINUTE waste of our time. We got to the event late, and then had to sit there for 2.5 hours HUNGRY because of the HORRIBLE TREATMENT from this McDonalds.
I dont know if this is a mandate, now, like if you have automated ordering kiosks, you can ignore the customers? If I could give this whole experience a NEGATIVE rating I would. Literally one of the worst fast food experiences I have had in my life. ZERO EXAGGERATION.
So, Im never going back. And I'll tell everyone I know until I am blue in the face never to visit that restaurant. ...

When I got to the window, the young woman accurately repeated my meal order, which included a medium Coke with no ice.
She then held up a drink with ice, and said, "This one doesn't have much ice in it." Huh? I just looked at her for a moment, confused. Noting my hesitation, she asked, "You want one with no ice?" I said yes, refraining from reminding her that is what I had ordered.
Clearly annoyed, she turned away and came back a minute later with a drink that had no ice, but was far from full. I let it go, as I'd already spent too much time waiting in the drive-through. But later, when I took a drink, I found it wasn't Coke, but Dr. Pepper. SMH
I have never had a fast food worker try to give me the wrong order because they didn't want to be bothered to provide the right one. Wow.
So if you order say, a Big Mac, will this girl try to give you a double cheeseburger because one happens to be sitting there? lol
ORIGINAL POST: Most of the day staff are pleasant and efficient, and so much of the time the drive-thru moves along.
The night staff is a whole different ball game, especially after 8:00 pm or so. Business seems to be sporadic later in the evening, and during the slow periods some of the staff seem to simply abandon the drive-thru.
Twice recently I sat at the speaker for several minutes and it was just crickets. The first time when it seemed clear nobody was going to take my order at the speaker, I pulled ahead to the first window. I waited several more minutes before a young man with bloodshot eyes appeared. When I told him I'd been waiting for a long while, he mumbled sorry, I was in the bathroom. Yep, kinda figured. 😜
My second late evening visit was a repeat. I sat at the speaker for several minutes and again, crickets. So I pulled ahead to the first window. (The car waiting in the right lane drove away.) I sat a few minutes more before someone finally came to the window and took my order.
In the future, I'm going to steer clear of this McDonald's later in the evening. Instead, I'll go to the 24-hour Dunkin' Donuts across the street. Hopefully the staff there will be attending to the drive-thru and not hanging out in the...
Read moreNormally this is the best McDonald's around but not tonight! The lady that took my order was rushing me. Okay not a big deal. They messed up my order and still charged me to fix it. Not a big problem. I had to oull forward and wait 10 minutes, that also wasn't tgat big of a deal. The real KICKER here is that when i got home i was missing the 20 chicken nuggets that I ordered. My family needs to eat so I drive the 10 minutes back to ask for the rest of my order. The blonde older lady working then accused me of lying about not getting my 20 chicken nuggets because she "packed the order herself and they were in there" Before I could say anything she ran off, got the remainder of my order (that she indeed did NOT put in the bag) and THREW it at me through the window and told me to have a blessed night. I then asked if she was the manager (she appeared to be wearing a different uniform than everyone else, she was wearing white. Maybe a shift leader?) Then she continued to yell at me "have a blessed night" as she ran away from the window. I waited a few minutes hoping someone would come back so I could ask for a manager, but no one ever came back to the window. This entire situation was ridiculous. Why would I waste an hour of my life getting food just to scam them out of $6? I placed my order at 6:50pm and didn't get home with my full order until 7:50 absolutely ridiculous. I spent $30 on my order, all I wanted was to actually get my order. Worst experience I have ever had at any restaurant. I will be calling tomorrow to talk to a manager. Editing to add that thry gave my daughter an OPEN and...
