I work for an automotive tier 1 supplier in the area and we decided to take a large party of some very important colleagues and suppliers who were visiting to dinner at this new establishment.
My colleagues arrived early to secure the tables and were sat but were not allowed to order anything. They wanted to pre-order the appetizers but were told no.
When the rest of the team arrived, we waited 30 more minutes to place a drink order and appetizer order. I joked that it would be 30 minutes to get the drinks because there were so many of us. I was wrong. It was 1 HOUR LATER that several of us were approaching servers and the manager to ask what was going on. Half of the drinks were delivered. All of the appetizers were gone. The manager hid in the back at that point.
Finally, another server approached our table and said that the bar didn't know what drinks they had already made and what was still needed. She took the order again and 30 minutes later drinks were still not delivered. Another server was apologizing, and I said please just go make the drinks!!! We had been there almost 2 hours and still not had a drink!
Tables all around us were seated and served and left. We watched people at the bar get served drinks the second they sat down. We were being ignored because they didn't know what to make? Drink re-orders took 30 minutes. People in our group started going to the bar on the other side of the restaurant and getting drinks.
They asked if the food should come out all at once. We said they could bring as it was ready. One entree came out and then 30 minutes later they started bringing out a few at a time. They brought out other tables food and incorrect food....it was a mess. Food was not fresh. Overcooked or overheated. Dried out. I have never seen a worse vegetable medley.
I worked in the food and bar industry for 10 years. I have traveled the world and dined out everywhere. I can honestly say that this is the worst dining experience in my 48 years I have EVER experienced! I decided not to engage with the staff because I was so angry to be put in this position in front of our important guests. One of our suppliers discussed with the manager (who returned from hiding when it was time to talk payment). She offered 3 free desserts and took a few drinks off. So unacceptable. This woman should not be managing a restaurant. There was more competence in a few of the staff members than I saw with her, so she was hardly leading when everyone seemed to need direction.
I wouldn't have paid for anything but one of our suppliers visiting from China went to the bar and paid because he wanted the opportunity to treat us. What a treat. Stay away from this restaurant. You have lost a future customer base in this local company that could have brought you a lot of revenue in the future. Simply...
Read moreThis was our 2nd time to visit Miller's in Sharpsburg, GA and this 3 star is rating EVERYTHING from sides to service to one disaster of a food offering. Otherwise it'd be a 1 or lower. We wanted to go someplace kind of special this Saturday and we'd had a good experience the 1st time. We looked their menu up online and the ease of finding information at their website is a discussion for another day, however, we finally were able to find their Saturday specials. They were a 12oz NY Strip w/ shrimp scampi and 2 sides and a grilled salmon w/ shrimp scampi and 2 sides. Looks awesome in the stock photos so we decided to drive the 17 miles there and get those items - steak for me and salmon for my wife.
As a side note, I didn't know they had a senior or military discount until I looked them up again for this review but I had to show my 73 yo driver's license in order to order our drinks and wasn't offered the senior discount at checkout. But probably my fault.
My Bloody Mary tasted more like a Virgin Mary. The celery "stalk" was 3" long and fell down in the glass. No olives. My wife's Texas Margarita was good.
I ordered my NY strip medium rare. When it came out, my first cut was a big piece of gristle. My next cut was into a piece of meat that was so tough I had to try to saw into it with the steak knife and barely got through. When I did, it was well done and gray and so tough I couldn't chew it. I had to spit it out. I complained to the server and she reported to the manager who let me order another steak. This time the ribeye even though it wasn't the special - good for her. I ordered it med rare. It came out and was kinda sorta med rare but much of it was gray. It was very dry and had a rancid, funky flavor I could not eat so I gave up on Miller's steaks. I had that taste in my mouth for hours.
My wife's salmon dish was very good. The shrimp scampi and all the sides were very good. It was just their steak. Service was great. Our server Troya was awesome and the manager was very attentive. She comped our meals which was $80. She told us that they source their steaks from Omaha Steaks. Yes, the one that advertises ultra quality steaks delivered to your door. They don't buy their ground beef from them which is probably why their burgers rate so high and looked awesome.
We'll probably go back but...
Read more11/28 update. After my first visit and the below review. I received a call from the general manager, Miles Davies. He wanted to hear my story from my mouth as my review bothered him greatly. He took ownership of what happened and made a sincere effort to apologize. Tonight I went back to Miller ale House, and met with Miles and gave them another opportunity. Our waitress Fran was on point and the food was delicious. No issues. In this day and age everybody expects great customer service, but true great service happens when something goes wrong and what the company does to make it right. Miles and his team went above and beyond to make the situation right for my family and myself. In the process we feel like we’ve gotten a new friend in Miles. Thanks
I would give this place a zero, if Google would allow it. If you have the displeasure of going to this place, make sure your waitress is not Krissy with a K.. She is clearly someone who hates her job and is an energy vampire. We got there for an early dinner, my wife and son and I. The hostess told us about their special One dollar wings. The waitress who I referred to as the vampire came over and took our order. Both my wife and son ordered wings, I ordered Mimi‘s fiesta bowl. About 10 minutes after we ordered the energy vampire came back and told us that the kitchen was out of wings. At 4:30 on a Wednesday you’re out of wings. How do you run out of a main ingredient like that in the middle of the week? Do you know how that happens when you have incompetent managers? So my son and wife have to order again fine whatever. Now the 40 minute wait comes for the food to come out. My wife and son’s food comes out. Mine comes out 10 minutes later as I was told they had to wait for the shrimp to cook. Of course, when they bring the whole meal out, the shrimp are piping hot but everything else on the dishes cold. I request the energy vampire to take the food away and bring over the manager. The manager seemed like a nice guy as he probably was dealing with several issues . Anyway, his solution was not to charge me for the food. I didn’t eat and offered me a $10 gift card to come back. How about comping the whole meal as this was a horrible experience. So now I have a gift card to restaurant that I have no desire ever to step foot in again. Way to...
