Their food is great. The service and consistency is lacking. When they have live music it is slow loud your head will hurt. I’ve eaten there a couple times and sat on their patio. Music was still too loud out there. Since there food I good I’ve switched to ordering on DoorDash. But that’s where I now have consistency issues and missing ingredients. I normally get the Vaca Frita. Some times it comes with a plantain, and sometimes it doesn’t. It will come with a ton of onions and less meat or all meat and a little onions. Same thing goes for a ton of congris and little beef or vice versa. If I order their churrasco steak the chimichurri sauce is in the container half the time. If something comes with papis sauce there’s typically not enough in there. I have started ordering extra and it seems there is even less in them some times. They close their DoorDash hours early so I call and pick up sometimes. Whoever typically answers the phone is rude and you can’t hear over the music in the background. She makes me feel like I’m inconveniencing her and even if I call an hour before close I get told I barely got my order in and then have been told picking up my order 30 minutes before close I should order earlier. I’ve been told present in the restaurant that your kitchen is closing and I have to place an order right then, and it’s been 10 minutes before close. I’d honestly give them 1 star based on the attitude of the staff and the inconsistency, but the food is good. Just don’t go on nights with music and have low expectations on service and staff.
Message to the manager or the owner. You guys have a great thing going, and I’d order your food more if it wasn’t just a frustrating process. Your staff makes me feel like the posted time you close is the time they expect to go home, and if that’s the case then adjust your hours and close earlier. I have been a regular patron of Papis for well over 8 years. The food and service is NO WHERE NEAR as good as it use to be. After a long week at work, I was looking forward to good food, drinks and entertainment of the live band. Instead I was neglected. My appetizer came out with my dinner and was not hot or fresh at all. The sad part about it is we had to ask a random worker walking by for our appetizer because the server did not come back to the table. When my main course arrived, it was cold and my cup of black beans was full of liquid with possibly 2 teaspoons of beans in it. The last and final straw was the server charged me $12 for a house margarita. In all my years of visiting this restaurant, I have NEVER paid $12 for a house margarita. The server dismissed me and said that is the normal price. I knew she was mistaken but after working all day and an even longer dining experience with subpar service I was ready to go. I am extremely disappointed and will never support this Kennesaw location or any other Papis franchise again. I don’t know what happened but yall need to huddle up and fix the issue. Read more2 different to-go experiences were polar opposites. In one order everything was excellent. The last order was mediocre as well as the customer service.
Things to note from the last order: -chicken mojo entree consisted of a dry chicken, lack of mojo juice, lesser grilled onions, the salad was missing the salad dressing. The congri, chicken and plantains were cold. the empanada appetizer was missing the papi sauce the track your order page, showed that the order was ready for pickup for 10 minutes until I finally received the text letting me know that order was ready for pickup. Is there a lag time between the order status on the website and the text? Is that the reason why my food was cold? Although there was a host and to-go staff not once were we greeted. with the prior customer the staff asked if there was any additional sauces that he wanted whereas with my order the bags were simply pushed to the front of the counter and wasn’t asked if I wanted any additional sauces. -the account name had my last name initial which is why I was confused about my to-go bags, that causes the staff to be asked to provide proof that this was my order, I had to show my email order confirmation before I could take off. That lady’s attitude along with the poor quality of my order are the reasons why I don’t recommend this restaurant to anyone.
Recommendations to business: -improve customer service -improve food quality and consistency -improve the technological lag between when an order is ready vs when it is presented to the customer to ensure food does not get cold -ensure condiments are not missed
