Sorry so long but please read
BEWARE OF THIS PLACE AND STAY AWAY FROM RENATO AS A SERVER!!! And don’t expect the manager to care about there trash service….
Where do I start…. First off stay away if you are not sitting at the bar! We went here 2x.
First experience we went on a taco Tuesday night. Took 45 minutes to get our drinks. Waitress was very disconnected only checked on us once. Food came out dry.
Second time we came here tonight with our 3 kids. They sat us in the round booth which was great. Server came over asked us what we wanted. We definitely ordered backwards. Ordered the food all together but asked for our tres chips to be sent out first as an app and hold a little bit for the dinner. we also ordered our adult drinks. 7 mins went by my Rose came out a few seconds later the app came out I was about to head to the RR and realized my boyfriend drink didn’t. I got up to go to the RR told the server that his drink was missing. I came back and me and my boyfriend dinner came out! Told them we are not ready for the dinner yet we just received our app. When I can back my boyfriend got his drink with NO APOLOGY considering I seen it sitting there before and he was chatting with the bartender while on his phone.
Next our food came out we ordered the fajitas with corn tortillas and flour came out. Ok no biggy… but once again NO APOLOGY. Corn tortillas came NO APOLOGY…. just came and gave a thumbs up.
When we asked to pay the server RENATO brought us the bill. After we noticed there was a 20% service charge that was added to the bill. We asked him why because we are a family of 5. He said well because you are a family of 5 I said ok but usually it’s 6 I asked him where it was located at on the menu he stuttered I asked him where is it located he pulled the menu up looked and said this is a new menu and it says 6. And we said ok so why did you charge us? RENATO had a smirk and didn’t apologize once!! Said he would just refund it if it’s a problem.
We asked to speak to a manager and after he had to text the call the manager it took him about 10’minutes to get to us. ONCE AGAIN NO APOLOGY. Manager said he will give us the tip in cash but we wanted the entire thing refunded. So he did that and when we tried to give him honest feed back about how trash his server was and how he only checked on us 2x didn’t apologize and was on his phone and talking to the bartender he just OK OK and brushed it off as if he didn’t care!
We watched the manager walk off and talk to our waiter and they both laughed and the waiter pulled out his phone and smirked at us while laughing .
We are in the service industry and we were 100% astonished. Only 1 bartender is good there. Manager is horrible and our waiter needs to learn that you have to work for money not just charge 20% he pretty much tried to steal from us
If you go here BEWARE. I would only go to the bar and stay away from Renato he doesn’t care about service and the manager needs TO...

I first visited this place on February 7, 2023 and I had a great experience.
Well I visited again, last week with my boyfriend in hopes that I would have the same great experience and boy was I wrong.
The food and service has gone down hill immensely. We were ignored for nearly 20 minutes while there were only two tables occupied in the entire restaurant. When I politely asked the hostess to get our server, he (the server) rolled his eyes and acted annoyed that we were bothering him. The hostess is always nice.
He never greeted us, nor did he bring us waters. We watched him continuously check in with his other tables while he danced around ours and conversed with people at the bar. And if he wasn’t checking in on his other tables then he was hanging out in the kitchen or talking to the bartender.
My food was so cold when I got it, and one of the sides I ordered didn’t come out until we were practically about to leave. Mind you, there was only two tables occupied in the entire restaurant.
I hate to pull the race card, but we were the only two black people in the restaurant and I feel like this played a factor.
Management should be aware of who they hire, their bias against demographics, or hire someone who can actually do their job.
The bad reviews against this one server are accurate and something needs to be done or this place won’t succeed.
It’s a beautiful place and has great potential. I would hate to see this location fail like the one in...
Read moreMy family visited Prickly Pear on a Wednesday at around 6:00pm. When we got there, there were 2 people at the bar and a table with 2 people, so not busy at all. The man told us to sit anywhere and he continued sitting at the front. After about 4-5 min he finally brought us menus. He came back with water and asked “do you want water”. We said yes. He then left again. He never asked if we wanted an appetizer or anything different to drink (soft drink, alcohol, etc). 10 min later he finally came back and asked if we were ready to order. We asked for queso and chips. Another 10 min for that to arrive. When our food arrived my son in law took 1 bite of his chicken (he ordered fajitas) and said it had absolutely NO flavor. I ordered 2 chicken tacos… same, chicken was blah. We called over a man that was serving food and told him and also that the rice tasted cold and crunchy as if it was sitting out all day. Our waiter came over and said he would take it off the bill and he did. He never once asked if we needed more water which had been gone long ago. The air conditioning was NOT working and we were literally sweating. Absolutely no reason we should have to eat at a nice establishment in August with this heat outside and the AC not working. We have been here before but it was definitely better. We do not plan on returning. Sad because we love Mexican food and we also love the sister...
