Such a great flat trail along the river! Wide enough for dogs, walkers, runners and bikes. It's a 3 ml loop but, usually I just walk to the end where it meets Columns Dr and turn back around to follow the river again. There are hiking trails that vear off if you want a more rugged experience.
My dogs love it here. There are dog clean up stations along the one side along the river and bathrooms at each end. They have restored a few of the wooden platforms overlooking the river so you can stop, sit and enjoy the view.
So far we haven't had any issues with aggressive dogs. Fortunately, the path is wide enough to avoid any potential negative dog encounters.
There are a few spots at the river where I can walk my dog to the shore to explore the sandy area.
It's $5 to park, but I buy the annual pass for $40. There's a machine there to pay and tags to hang in the car if you buy the...
Read moreIm a beginner/lowkey mountain biker and this is one of my favorite mountain biking trails as it isnt too long and doesnt have alot of steep climbs or jumps. The inclines and declines are fairly well balanced. Ive been riding this trail for a couple of years and i believe some soil/clay erosion has caused there to be more exposed roots and rocks over the years. The deterioration has essentially made the trail a little more technically difficult than it used to be as you have to be pretty precise when guiding your wheels through complex weaveworks of exposed roots/and or approach these sections with more speed to have enough momentum to go over them. Still lots of fun though. Make sure to take note of the correction hiking/biking direction on this loop trail as it differs according to day...
Read moreThis was my first time there. It wasn't too packed but there was a moderate amount of people there. Today was a free admission day and I didn't look to see what the usual price was. It was quite over grown down the trail so you didn't have great views of the Chattahoochee River. They did have some decks built out over the water where you could step out to see up and down the river but I must say some seemed to be leaning so I didn't go out them but I did get a few pictures thru the trees. This wasn't a place where you could take pretty photos but it may be due to it being later in the season. Its not scenic...its just a walking trail. And right now the bathrooms are closed but they water fountains and they have filtered water bottle fillers attached...also dog watering bowls in...
