My husband and I drove from Duluth for the third visit. Always have a fun and enjoyable visit. At least 15 or more mobile radio operators enjoy the plethora of menu choices. The Roosters staff are extremely accommodating, friendly and food arrives in a timely manner. My favorite are the grilled w/or without barbecued Hen (chicken) Fingers with Onion rings and a (huge) side salad plus an endless glass of sweet southern tea. My husband enjoys the soup and sandwiches or grilled chicken salad. Barbecue is also a good choice. Someone always gets the Nachos and dip. So many choices of good food Super easy ,layed back and fun gathering place. Friendly staff. Walls full of nostalgic history of the area and objects associated with a farm the mountains. Mixed with a casual sports themed bar area and 3 large screen TVS . Plus a nice outdoor Patio dining area Bob Appetite!!!!! Worth the drive. Plan a day trip and check out the area.

I just moved to Dahlonega from northern Gwinnett County. I'm used to Taco Mac for my beer and wings. I am glad Dahlonega has and Alternate. Roosters is pretty nice inside both the decor and atmosphere are agreeable. The waitresses and servers are nice to look at but not that experienced. I believe our table was served by a girl named Molly. They were very slammed when we arrived and things got better as the night went on. She did a fine job. Lastly everyone at our table agreed that the food was slightly oily especially the french fries.

Well I got the calories I needed in a kitchy space with excellent service. The staff was very kind and timely. This place was very reminiscent of my youth complete with a pickle and garnish (but now it's kale rather than parsley). However, the food was sub par. You could tell that my chicken was prefrozen probably from Sysco. Soggy iceberg. The greasy spoon dreams of onion rings were dashed when I received 8 room temperature rings. I thought to myself I should have gone to Chic Fil A.

It was OK. We got there at 8:00 p.m. and the hostess looked at us like we were aliens. She never greeted us and after a minute or two we finally asked if we could have a table to sit at.... it took her a couple of second to comprehend what was asked then another couple of seconds to answer. And then she looks around for a place for us FINALLY we sat at a bar top table. So while we are looking over the menu, casually mind you because it's only 8:00 p.m. and talking business a young gentleman comes up to the table "what are yall eating" the response was can we get drinks first. Then "well we are getting ready to close so I have to get your food order in quickly and then I can get your drinks" then it's "we close early cause tonight is change the grease and clean the kitchen night" ok whatever. This place is closed on Tuesdays it's Monday night. Wouldn't you clean on Tuesday the whole restaurant? Then drinks came and the friend and my husband order water and a beer I ordered coke. The coke was horrible so I send it back the same glass and same coke was brought back I swear cause it tasted the same. The gentleman was getting annoyed by now so I ordered a sweet tea. It was a very weak sweet tea. Husband and friend ordered steaks with salad. Salad comes and both plates were sat in front of our friend. Food comes same thing both steaks were sat in front of our friend and my burger in front of me. Food was hurriedly cooked. Hamburger was dry I almost choked even after adding condiments it was still dry and the cheese wasn't even melted. We have eaten here before and it's was good but after tonight I seriously doubt we go back. Wasn't worth 65.00! And there was a sign on the front stating patio was closed because short staffed. Nothing about closing early to clean...

Made a stop here today for lunch with my mom and my granddaughter. Food was excellent as always but I just have to call out our server JULIE she was magnificent! My granddaughter is 2 and a half and Julie was her hero today. Here are her heroic feats: when we see ere first seated I put my granddaughter in her high chair and managed to leave her dress all hiked up in the back, as soon as Julie walked up she address that issue. She nicely spoke to my granddaughter and gently tucked her dress in around her so her pull up was no longer exposed. Then she saw that she was wanting to color and was getting upset because we only had the menus. Julie walked away And came back with a full coloring book and a box of crayons and helped her get started coloring. And finally, during the meal my granddaughter dropped one of her (delicious hand cut) fries and she was crying real tears because I could not give it back to her. Julie came over saw the tears and wiped them away and asked if she wanted more fries. My granddaughter said yes and Julie was back in a flash with a saucer of fresh fries. My granddaughter said thank you and proceeded to eat every single fry that Julie brought her, and no more tears. When we left she saw Julie across the restaurant and was waving at her saying bye-bye. Thank you Julie for being so kind and genuinely caring.

First time here. The hostess was a super nice young lady I wish I had got her name. Our server was a bit overwhelmed because they were really busy but she never lost her laugh. The food was very good and met my expectations for value and quality. Service was a little slow but as I said they were really busy so that's understandable. I will...

Last time coming here. Recently moved to the area and trying out new local places. First time in was for dinner about 2 weeks ago was amazing. Great service-quick, food was great. Was so impressed that I came in for late lunch a week ago. I was sat quickly and then ended up walking out because no server ever came to my table. I was there at least 10 minutes. Thinking this was maybe a fluke, a friend of mine and I went in for dinner tonight. We were seated quickly. Our server was pretty slow and at one point after delivering our drinks said she’d be back “in a second” to take our orders. 5+ minutes later she came back. Food came out-and here’s where it gets worse. I ordered a Rooster burger (1/2 pound), medium. What came to the table, a 4 oz mcdonalds-esque 1/4 pounder patty, well done. Certainly NOT a half pound burger as it should have been. I send it back telling my waitress that this is overcooked and not the right sized patty. 10 minutes later, my friend has finished his meal now, and the server brings the new burger out. This is STILL not a half pound burger. Grrrrrrrr…. And it’s medium-well. The kitchen doesn't know how to even cook a hamburger properly (TWICE) and clearly don’t know portion size. The server should have known better as to what an 8 versus 4oz burger looks like too and pushed back on the kitchen. Customers want to get what we pay for. EPIC FAIL. Won’t be back. I should also note that the table next to me had to send food back to the kitchen as well. You'll be better off at Waffle...
