This local restaurant isn't a fancy, upscale dining experience. However, there are times when you just want a freshly made burger or bowl of homemade chili, not to mention some of the best onion rings I have ever had. If you're into wings, Rooster's has a large variety of sauces to choose from, and all of the ones I tasted were quite good. However, the one item I come back to time and again is their steak sandwich that features a thin-cut 6 oz ribeye steak seasoned up right and served on a toasted long roll with their homecut fries on the side. Tasty, filling, and priced very modestly, you also get plenty of fresh lettuce, tomato and onion to make a real meal. If I have one suggestion, it would be to try to figure out how to make the homemade fries a bit less limp, my thought is that they would be spectacular with a bit more crunch on the outside, particularly if they could keep the freshly made flavor. I do like the good service here, and getting your napkins handily placed at the table in roll form (okay, so it's just a roll of paper towels, get over it) is a good way to clean up extra wing sauce or juice from the burgers or steak sandwich. Don't count on a quiet dining experience, plenty of families and groups take care of that. But, you will appreciate the attention to good grub you...
Read moreJust No! ... I really don't understand the 5 star reviews ... they must all be from friends, relatives, and coworkers. We got three flavors of wings (med, ragin cajun, and roosters red or something like that? - it was supposed to be their hottest)... none of which were anything to write home about (definitely not the heat two of us were hoping for). I can say that the service was fast and served with a smile so no complaints there (in fact it's the only reason I even gave 2 stars); however, the ambiance and overall cleanliness was awful! At one point in time they decided to remove old vinyl flooring and seemingly just left the old glue behind ... I'm assuming to finish out that creepy hole-in-the-wall vibe (btw I'm not against hole-in-the-wall spots, but only when they're clean and the food is good). It's dark and the booth cushions need a lot of new padding. To top it all off they only have one craft beer on tap. I don't like to leave reviews like this, but sorry you should go five minutes down the road and spend your...
Read moreHORRIBLE- Bar food at its worst ...... I was looking forward to eating here to the other day with my girlfriend . We had order the fried mushrooms. After the dish was severed to us it was so hot we couldn't eat. We waited a minute and even then as soon as we bit in hot grease pored out everywhere on us. I was able not to get burned for I spit the food quick back out. My girl friend was not as lucky. She was scolded with the hot grease on her lip. The burn was so hot it left a ugly blister on her bottom lip. On top of this the mushrooms where still frozen/cold in the center . This tells me that A). their mushrooms where frozen not fresh B) the food was just flash cooked for it was still cold in the middle but looked like it thru cooked on the outside . and C) they really don't care about their customers or food. We where told by management after we left, when we called back, that it was our fault for not cutting into the food first....I'm not kidding when I say "Don't go here, you are not...
