Worst Meal & Service, EVER!! My husband went to Ruth Chris today, because he had a $100 gift card for his birthday. We had gone over their menu in advance to pick out what we wanted, because we still do not eat inside restaurants due to covid. My husband arrived exactly at 4pm when they opened, so he could be the first one there. No other customers were there or present. My husband placed his order, which included lamb chops. They asked him for payment in advance, which he complied with. After he paid, someone then came out and stated, “They did not have lamb.” The manager came out and allowed my husband to get the ribeye for the same price. Our total order was around $165. First mistake, they brought out the food order and when my husband checked the little-tiny bag that cost $165, they had left out the salad and dressing. Also the salad dressing had zero taste. Second, $26 for two tiny round golf-ball sized crab cakes. Are you kidding me? Third, the mushroom container was so little and greasy, OMG!!! I didn’t even eat the mushrooms because I thought I could have a stroke. Fourth, the potatoes looked like greasy cheesy breakfast potatoes that didn’t even fill up ÂŒ of the container. Fifth, ALL of the containers were ÂŒ to œ full, after spending all that money. Insane!!! I’ll continue. Okay, so for an overpriced dive that specializes in steaks, how disappointing. The ribeye was so tough that my husband could not cut it with a very sharp steak knife. The steak had zero flavor, and it was full of fat, gristle, and grease in the pan. We could have gone to Stoney River, Whole Foods, or even Texas Roadhouse to get a bigger, better, and tastier steak. You would think an establishment like Ruth Chris would pay attention to details, provide excellent customer service when mistakes are made, and deliver top quality ingredients and food quality. NOT!!! THE PORTIONS ARE TEENY-TINY, ridiculous and absolutely not worth the money (See attached pictures). We will NEVER, ever, ever, never spend our hard-earned money at Ruth Chris again. We would have been better off just going to Cheeseburger Bobby’s. I felt like I had just eaten Popeye's chicken based on the grease factor. My husband said the best part of going to Ruth Chris was talking to the bartender. You know that is a shame. SMH

Our entire meal, from the moment we arrived, had a weird vibe. Our cocktails for the first round took 20+ minutes, with our overcooked calamari served first. We were almost done with it when someone checked on us, which is when we could finally point out the lack of bread, bread plate, and that we were out of water. The cocktails that took 20+ minutes were okay, but neither warranted the 20+ minute wait, nor was the restaurant busy. One was not really as advertised — dressing up a whiskey sour is not blending it with a manhattan, yall — but the second round was good. Granted, we ordered simpler cocktails too. My steak was overcooked, medium rather than the “rare no medium rare” I asked for. I didn’t return it, though I was asked, but mostly because I had already taken a bite of it. The salads were good, the crĂšme brĂ»lĂ©e was standard. We did enjoy the sides too - mushrooms, Mac annd cheese, and potatoes. Our service got better as it went on. Maybe because it was clearer that we were there to spend money? That mostly sums up the overall weird vibe — we spent over $300 for 2 people, but we felt judged and put in the furthest back corner. They also talked about the updated decor — I hadn’t felt the need to go to an RC in years (I prefer Mark Josephs personally) but it didn’t look any different than it did 12 years ago. Overall the meal was mid, just like my steak.

It was a great dining experience. My mom took me for my birthday â™“ïžđŸŽ‚ We had a 30 min wait. So we decided to sit at the bar and had a shot each of that 1942! I vlogged it on my YouTube channel*hint hint*😉 The atmosphere was chill. Red low lightning. I wore a cotton Nike dress (grey) with some black Airmax and a high ponytail. When we finally got to our seats we were greeted right away. We ordered some cocktails. I had their signature drink, Ruth's Punch. While we waited for out starters, they gave us complimentary dish of mashed potatoes and piece of steak. Mouth watering 😋 We started with the spicy shrimp. They for our entrĂ©e my mom had medallion steak and shrimp with veggies and I had the Salmon filet. We shared a side of Lobster Mac and cheese. Our waiters favorite. He was super cool and informative about the history behind how they cook their steak. Which they cook at 500 degree F served on 800 degree plate to keep the steak sizzling hot and juicy. For dessert we had the apple crumble cake, red velvet lava cake, and for NY special day they gave me a mini cheese cake cupcake! What a night. I'm full just typing about it. âœŒđŸŸ

Our recent visit to Ruth's Chris Steakhouse was a tremendous disappointment. We were meeting friends to celebrate two birthdays and a wedding anniversary. This review is just one of the multiple visits where this restaurant has missed the mark.

Let's chat about drinks ...

On arrival, there was plenty of seating in the bar/lounge area. We selected seats at the bar to meet our friends. We ordered slightly dirty martinis (using Kettle One) with blue cheese-stuffed olives; they arrived quickly and were as ordered. As the evening moved forward lots of guests arrived including our friends. It was a Friday night, and as expected both the bar and restaurant were busy, yet the bar staff had only two bartenders serving both areas. The two quickly became overwhelmed resulting in long waits for cocktails that weren't very well made, and in some cases substituted (they ran out of Kettle One, except for their display bottle which they refused to open after our first martini) and stuffed olives ... they became non-existent. It sounds petty, but there's more.

Let's talk about food ...

We placed orders for appetizers, some came and some never did. Of those that arrived, those containing shrimp were overcooked and had to be sent back ... twice. Those that never arrived were still billed resulting in an end-of-evening dispute with management. It was the third encounter with the manager over the quality of food, drinks, and service; none of the encounters were friendly, respectful of guests, or resulted in a positive outcome for the restaurant or us.

Let's talk about atmosphere ...

Within the first 30 minutes of arrival, the lighting system failed (apparently the problem had existed for over ten days) where the appropriate mood lighting for a dinner crowd suddenly went to full brightness, then back to mood lighting. This continued randomly throughout the evening.

Then the refrigeration unit in the bar wall was found to be too hot because the door didn't seal correctly (an existing issue), and the backup refrigeration unit had never been plugged in. There were so many staffers attempting to address the issue ... the effect was more "keystone cops" than professional restaurateurs.

Then there was the slinging of dishes by the staff into tubs behind the bar ... it was more Waffle House (no disrespect to them) than fine dining.

Finally, the management had taped a laminated sign on the wall, stating all customers must open a tab by providing a credit card. No problem with the policy, it should simply be spoken to guests. The sign was obnoxious and the quality was more "gentleman's club" than fine dining.

We have a few upscale restaurants in Kennesaw, and we try to support them all in hopes of attracting more to the area. Ruth's Chris, which should provide an upscale experience, instead provides an inconsistent experience. It's clearly due to poor management.

Ruth's Chris owners should review their management team at this location and replace them with folks who care about guest experiences. Until then, we can't visit or recommend this...

Update 8/7/23 - One month later, I decided to go back. Megan set up the reservation. So upon my arrival my table had birthday confetti, I had the same waiter from last time (Myles), he came to my table with a complementary glass of Perseco. I ordered ribeye, caesar salad, and onion rings. The salad & onion rings were extremely good. The steak was better than my original visit. Myles was determined to bring a complementary dessert before my departure but I declined. However, he put a piece of cheesecake in a to go box. Thank you Myles & Megan for making my birthday do over dinner a special day! 7/9/23 - All I wanted was a nice steak dinner for my birthday. I ordered a caesar salad, mashed potatoes, ribeye (well done). The salad & potatoes were good however the steak was bland and burnt. I was told it was burnt due to well done request. I've ordered several steaks well done at other establishments and it's never been burnt. I was reluctant to send the steak back as I know that's an insult to the chef and was afraid of my food not being handled properly. My waiter(Miles) was very nice and persuasive and assured me it will be ok. He asked if I would like blackened seasoning on the steak, as it would give it more flavor. I was concerned about that type of seasoning but agreed to it. He also recommended medium rare to avoid the burnt taste. The second steak came out which was a much bigger cut, medium rare was fine and it was more flavorful, however the taste of the blackening seasoning was not to my liking. At this point I just wanted to pay for my salad, potatoes, and adult beverage and leave. He was very apologetic and offered to bring me something else. The manager came by and asked if there was anything more they can do. Which at this point I have been there for an hour and a half. Not to mention I was hungry and just wanted to go home. I'm literally sitting at home eating my potatoes now which is not very fulfilling. As I only had a protein shake today looking forward to my steak dinner. Spent $45 + a tip for a salad, potatoes, and peach tea. Miles did bring out a birthday dessert even after I advised him I did not want it. He was very attentive and had great customer service skills. At the end of the day it was a very disappointing experience for the one birthday dinner I had my heart set on the past...

First time dining. I have heard for years about Ruth's Chris Steak House. Firstly this was a 50th birthday party for 10. I was surprised to discover this location was located inside an Embassy Suites hotel and the entrance was a side door to the property. It was very difficult maneuvering the crowded lot of tourists jockeying for the best position to unload their luggage. Upon entering and finding our way to the host/ hostess stand a very nice young lady greeted us. We said we like to be seated however she said we could not be until 80% of our party arrived. I was a little confused as to why we could not be seated until 80% of our party arrived. We had a reservation so this to me made no sense, luckily 90% of us were present, she then graciously showed us to table set in the main corridor off the kitchen door. I found this unacceptable. When I expressed this she generously showed us to the bar while a suitable area was prepared. While at the bar the service and drinks were good. After a period of time a different woman very angrily told us our table was ready and showed us to a private room. This was a very nice room. Once there our server came in and did a good job of taking care of us. The appetizers were good but the entrees were a train wreck. He and the other servers did not know which meal went to which guest. Steak temperatures were mostly wrong, mine was inedible, and one of my guests didn't get a meal at all. Soooo the prices charged versus food and quality of food in my opinion are vastly at different ends of the scale. To pay upwards of 59.00 per entree and then be asked to slice your steak to see if it is correct....wow. We tried to make light of it for my sisters sake, it was her 50th birthday, so bad. The check came I signed and added a gratuity but then was told by the server he already added. I asked RUTH'S CHRIS to void and bring another but was told they could not do that. That can't possibly be true. I own retail stores and easily have the ability to correct this type of a mistake. All I can say is Ruth must be turning in her grave. This was a mediocre Long Horn Steak experience ertainly not what it is billed to be. Also no interaction with the manager on duty it seemed she dumped it all onto the poor server. I just researched the parent company and discovered it is Darden. Olive garden and Long Horn steaks! Now I...
