Eating a meal a Seminole Wind is like coming home to my Mama's Home Cooking. Have you ever eaten at a place that just made you feel good all over? I'm not talking about just the food. There are several places in town that can serve you a delious meal, but do they make you feel like you just sat down at your Mama's. table? Seminole Winds can. The waitress treat you like family, whether is skeeterdoole Missy, whose feet have wings, or Crissy who adopts you and needs to make sure you are OK, to little Megan who shyly runs her area, to Leona who'll treat you like a sister to Sherry who has to be the big sister and keep all areas running smoothly. These ladies know how to make sure you are properly taken care of. The menu is made of real food, not that canned stuff. They order up fresh produce daily from the farmers market and Lewis Produce. The potatoes are real, not flash in the pan dried stuff. The meat is as fresh as can be for the most part. Jackie comes in early every morning to cook food for that day. You aren't getting yesterday's left overs, it's fresh every day, just like at home. Then theres Terry who cooks like my daddy. He fries up the best porkchops in town, and no place in town can touch his chicken. Like I said, it's like coming home to my Mama's cooking. So when you feel like you just need to go eat somewhere that makes you feel welcomed, give Seminole Winds a try and you will know what it is like to come home to real southern style home cooking. Enjoy...
Read moreAug 2023 Update: The kids talked me into trying this place again tonight and we ALL regret that one. The food was so bad!!! Cold black eye peas, cold rice (and I don't mean "not hot enough" - COLD). No steak. No sodas. No ice cream. A piece of "fried" fish was so underdone the meat wasn't even white, just that "clear gel" look when I bit into it (it was SO NASTY). Hair on the meatloaf so I didn't eat that. The mashed potatoes tasted downright rancid, nobody would eat those. We finally found the fried shrimp, mac and cheese, and lukewarm butter rolls to be tolerable. So for three adults and two kids we paid about $75 for that. My fault, totally. I chose to go again. But so people know: that's what this place is in Aug 2023.
One thing that really bothers me too: They are running this place in the name of the Lord. They have Christian scriptures and decorations and play worships music. I wonder what kind of witness it is for the Kingdom when those things are on display in a business that is ridiculously bad at what they do.
April 2023: This place is way too hit or miss and at $20 a plate it gets pricey to take my small family out for steaks tougher than a hockey puck, soggy fish and over salted fried shrimp. The restaurant feels like it is way past retirement age but just doesn't...
Read moreWhen I walked in the door, I was not greeted. You have to pay before you are seated so I waited for the cashier to acknowledge me. She was walking around the restaurant in the buffet area and was on the phone. Waited 5 minutes before being cashed out. And, if you don’t have cash, you will be charged an extra dollar for you using a debit or credit card. I am in retail and I know we don’t get charged for a dollar per transaction. I went and found a table. You have to wait for the waitress to come and get your drink order before you can help yourself to the buffet. I sat at the booth for 10 minutes before the waitress came to me. I gave her my drink order. I went and got a salad and came back. Drink was there, but no straw!! I was not about to drink from the cup! It was about 15 minutes before I could enjoy the tea because that is when she finally came back to check to see if I needed something. One waitress was just walking around and talking to customers and not really concerned because I wasn’t in her area. I personally think this place is seriously overpriced and over rated. I believe when it sold from one owner to the next is when this happened. There are more choices in Thomasville and I will not...
