Edit 10/27/25: Still has great bagels, but disappointing that half my pick up order was burnt. Iâm not sure if they were just trying to unload garbage and hoping I wouldnât check until I got back to work (got me there). If come here, please check your order. My blueberry bagel which was not supposed to be sliced, was not only sliced, but terribly done so we had to cut off the flappy top and then slice the remaining bagel. At least it wasnât burnt.
These issues are just silly and had to have been done either on purpose, or as a result of such disregard for order fulfillment that my next work order is going to be fulfilled by Einstein⊠at least I can be confident the bagels wonât get thrown away or come mutilated.
Shame as this place otherwise is really great.
Original: This place is absolutely awesome. I stopped by today to grab some bagels for a work event for a big group (bought 18 bagels) and wow these bagels are both huge and REALLY delicious. I got a medley of different bagels, and every single person said these were, by far, the best bagels they've eaten in years. These bagels are really soft, fresh, and taste great. I also got a variety of different schmears and they were all really tasty (even the ones I didn't really like on my bagel that much were tasty, like strawberry - totally going to use this on other things because it was, independently, delicious). People in the shop were really friendly too - I absolutely will be coming back when I need bagels. This place is WAY better than any other bagel shop I've been to (blows Einstein's out of the water), and well worth an extra drive if it's a little further away. Highly recommend - if you like bagels you REALLY need to check this place out!! Inside dining is quaint and there is plenty of room - I'm looking forward to trying some of their in-house menu options in the future - a lot of them were looking...
Read moreRevised: Still absolutely the best bagels in the area. I spoke with the manager about the onion issue and found it that the issue isn't how the pastries are cooked, but how they are stored. They have issues with cross contamination when employees improperly store the baked goods too close to the onions. They say that they try to train the employees, but they still occasionally mess it up. In my experience, it has been 50/50 whether the pastries are onion flavored or not. Trouble is, I end up throwing things out about half the time, and I don't like wasting my money. I love the crumb cake and the muffins, so wish they would consistently get this under control.
Original review: Almost great, but a tragic flaw. The texture and taste are authentic to New York bagels. The issue is that they cook everything - including the pastries, cakes and cookies - either at the same time or right after they cook with onions and everything has an onion essence. I have been here 4 times over 4 weeks and it has been the same every time. Today I had a sesame bagel, with onion essence. Last time I tried their blueberry muffins, which looked and should have tasted like the best store-bought blueberry muffin I ever had, but even my kids spit it out because the taste of onion was overwhelming. I have tried their coffee cake, which had a great topping though the cake was not my style, but the taste of onion made it inedible. I hope the owners read this because the onion is really the only thing wrong with this place - outside of it, the food would be amazing. Fix this one minor issue and I will happily change my review to 5 stars and go...

Can you blame me? This sausage egg and cheese with a cheddar bagel is from @thebagelholega in Cumming and boy oh boy, it was delicious!! They have this bagel sandwich I want to try but it's available for lunch only so you know I'll be coming back đ

Added review on 10/19/2025:
Iâve reviewed Bagel Hole before, but after visiting again today, I have to update this... they continue to be one of the best bagel spots in North Georgia.
Great service, friendly staff, and consistent quality every time. Itâs a small shop, but they make the most of the space with tables inside and outside, a fountain drink machine, and a cooler with extra drinks to grab and go.
We ordered a sausage, egg, and cheese on a cheddar bagel and an everything bagel with egg salad, both were excellent. Toasted perfectly: crisp on the outside, soft in the middle, easy to eat, and full of flavor. Thatâs how a bagel should be.
The owners, Gary and Kathy, are wonderful and truly care about their customers. Thereâs a sign saying a new location is coming soon to Alpharetta (and possibly one toward Dawsonville), which is great news because these bagels deserve more fans.
Always worth the stop. Highly...
