Came here for lunch on Sunday with the wife and kids around 11:45 am. We were quickly seated and the restaurant wasn't crowded, though it quickly filled up as it got closer to noon. Our server, Jack, was very personable and attentive, good service throughout. The music was loud enough to make it difficult to hear children talking when giving an order but not so loud we had to shout or anything (maybe not being able to hear the children is a good thing... :V).
I ordered the Classic taco with steak and the Big Greek Taco, with a side of rice and beans (forewarning, the bean are not refried, they're black beans). The rice wasn't traditional Mexican rice, but was still very good. If you're expecting classic rice and beans, then you probably shouldn't have gone to a fusion place. The Classic taco was good. The Greek Taco was very Gyro-y, but sadly used the pre-prepared strips of processed Gyros meat you get in frozen supermarket kit. Tad overcooked for me. But everything tasted good.
Wife got the Korean BBQ Taco and was pleasantly surprised that it wasn't very spicy. She also got a side salad which was good but a tad hard not to spill the contents of the salad on the table due to the small bowl. Cute but impractical.
One kid got the kids chicken taco, and the other got the kids chicken tenders. They both liked their food, and the chunk of chicken strip I tried was not too breaded and had some seasoning on it. My 10yo was still hungry after finishing her kids meals (which came with rice and an oreo pack) so she got an additional taco off the adult menu. The other kid got fruit (which was freshly sliced pineapple) and enjoyed it. They both liked their food a lot.
When it came time to pay we were encouraged to use the QR code on the table to pay. I went through leaving my tip and punching in my card info when I noticed that their payment processor sneaks in a 1 dollar 'Platform Support Fee'. Clicking on the ? Reveals you can avoid this fee by asking a staff member to pay, which I did. I don't feel like I should be subsidizing a restaurants payment processor when I'm spending almost $100 on drinks and lunch and tip.
Overall a good experience -- value proposition is a tad low but the food quality and service from...
Read moreMy husband and I had lunch at Tin Lizzy's Cantina last week and it was somewhat disappointing. I saw the restaurant on Atlanta Eats the day before and was excited to try it.
When we arrived, there were only a handful of patrons in the restaurant. Our server asked us if we had dined at the restaurant before and we said no. I thought she would use that opportunity to tell us about the popular dishes or food in general but she did not. We ordered 2 Texas Margaritas. They were just okay. Nothing to brag about. They didn't taste like the ones we usually get from our fav Mexican restaurant but we did not complain.
We ordered an appetizer and our meal. I ordered the Cantina Skillet with grilled chicken and hubby ordered the Chicken Fajita Tacos. I asked the server to please not bring the food out with the appetizer and she said ok. Well, two minutes after the appetizer got on our table the food came. I was not happy with this. We stopped eating the appetizer to eat the meal because we did not want the food to get cold. My husband loved his food and wished he had ordered more than three tacos. My skillet was not as awesome as I thought it would be. I did not enjoy it and wished I had gotten the fajita tacos. It was bland and not as tasty as it looked on Atlanta Eats. I ate less than half of it.
Our server disappeared after the food came. I wanted some hot sauce and waited for a few minutes to see if she would come by. She did not, so I asked another server for it. Remember I said the restaurant was not full and had only a hand full of patrons there. She never came around to ask if we needed anything or another drink. Our water glasses were near empty but she did not come around to refill them. When we had finished eating, our server resurfaced and asked us how the food was. That was after the fact so we asked for the check.
Sadly, this was a very disappointing lunch for me. The service was not good at all. Perhaps the server was having an off day but that left an impression on me. Perhaps one day I will give the restaurant another chance but that will not be any time in the near future. I choose to spend my money where I can find good food and a service that...
Read moreI just came into this restaurant on a quiet Wednesday evening to pick up a to-go order placed with 4 dishes and 1 side. A young lady entered in alongside me and received her order, packed in a large bag, first. After she left, I communicated my order to the server and off she went to look for it. At first, she tried to bring me a bag that was not mine. After refusal of that one, she went back to check. On exit, informed me that they could not find my order and that they were remaking it.
My suspicion was that they gave the first girl my order and I relayed that concern to her. She quickly dismissed it, told me the kitchen had simply lost the ticket, and that was that. I waited approx 3-4 minutes while the kitchen remade my order, and look who walks in but the original girl, holding that same large paper bag. Looks were exchanged, the bag was taken and returned to the kitchen, and they gave her the smaller order than they originally tried to fob off onto me. My bag was returned, now with the correct check attached, and passed off to me.
I had to ask… “have you guys checked this?” “has anything been opened…?” because realistically I’m sure this violates some health and safety regulations by passing around food from customer to customer.
The manager assured me everything was fine, and sent me off with my winnings. Very short interaction. Upon coming home, we realized that the bag in fact was NOT checked because there was an empty vape box at the bottom of the bag. A watermelon ice Raz, if you were curious. 9000 puffs with HD screen animation. Also there were no chips to go with the queso we ordered.
This was my first time ordering from here and it will also be my last. 😚 how do you mess up a to-go order on a slow weekday night, not take accountability for your mistake, and not offer anything to appease the customer?? Do better...
